If you want your stream to stop dropping, you should seek out a stronger or more stable Internet connection. You need a good upload speed, and using ethernet rather than WiFi is a good option to get a strong, more reliable connection.

If your stream drops, there is nothing you can do about it really. I would recommend locally recording your runs as well as streaming so that way if there is an issue like this you will still have a full video without breaks in it.

You’re going to need experience in soldering wires for one thing since you need to splice the extension cable and get it onto the Arduino and splitting between the actual output and the USB cable. Of course the Arduino needs all the right firmware and everything as well (plus I would recommend RetroSpy as it’s much better than NintendoSpy and it supports non-Nintendo controllers).

If you’re capable of that type of electrical work, then I would start here: https://retro-spy.com/wiki/retrospy-hardware-selection/

That site is the main hub for all RetroSpy information. There you can see what hardware is supported (Arduino and Teensy 3.5) and if you click on the console link under the hardware you wish to work with, you’ll see all of the required equipment you need (ie. The RetroSpy cable - pre-made or home-made, the firmware, etc) and some step by step instructions on what to do, solder, all that.

You need to talk to the Minecraft community about all requests to add categories or games. The MC forums have a link to the game request page if this is a new game and if this is category for an existing game, you can discuss it with the mods of that game.

My guess is that your issues are because your username is a character that can’t successfully be resolved into a URL and “u” is a different profile/username than what you have.

I figured if the game has people submitting runs (or submitted then a month ago) then there must be some kind of active players to talk with. But if that is not be the case, then so be it.

As for that setting, it has its uses for games where categories are literal memes (Barney’s Hide and Seek I think still has it enabled) or as a way for a very popular/busy game to still show runs - usually with an unverified indicator - until a mod can fully verify the runs. I don’t like it in general, but I can understand where it might be used. In your case, the game is quiet so I don’t see a reason to enable that feature at all.

Keep in mind it’s just my opinion on this whole matter, which is what you asked for in the OP. At the end of the day you can still do whatever you want.

It seems like you’re trying to shy away from your duty as a mod rather than just....doing it.

How you feel about IL runs is irrelevant to anything and the fact you felt the need to bring up such a passionate distaste for them was odd to begin with. But if you’re just going to ignore the ILs and turn off verification and deal with the BS if it happens, then what’s the point of being a mod? A mod is for the community, and if that game has ILs that people are running, it’s your job to tend to those ILs.

If you have such a great distaste of ILs that you’d rather disable verification than just verify them, then I honestly don’t think you’re a good fit to be a moderator for a game that has ILs. I understand it’s a relatively quiet game, but still, this stance, and thread in general, is just odd to me. Just verify the runs, discuss with the community if the ILs can be reworked or removed, literally anything else seems like a better choice than just pretending the ILs don’t exist unless someone submits fake runs.

I mean that TASVideos won’t accept a TAS not made on Bizhawk (or technically Mupen). I guess you could use PJ64 if you really want to and don’t want to submit it to them, but idk how robust the TAS tools are for that emu or if any even exist. Even before Bizhawk became the defacto standard I remember people using Mupen.

Besides, with all the resources and tools available for Bizhawk, I would suggest going with that even if it’s just a TAS for fun. You’ll probably find more information on utilizing it than you would PJ64.

This is not the right place for information or resources on that, you're looking for http://tasvideos.org/

For what it's worth, Project64 is not accepted on TASvideos for N64 emulation, they require you to use Bizhawk with the N64 core (they also accept a version of Mupen but it's not preferred, Bizhawk is).

Site staff mentioned a few times in that original thread I believe that games based off of Google Maps would not be accepted. I do not believe that policy has changed since then so that is probably the root reason for the continued rejection of GeoGuesser.

Oreo’s point still remains - if that application is used by the Hitman 2 speedrunning community then you need to direct all issues or inquiries about it to their forum (Oreo linked it).

If this app has nothing to do with speedrunning and is just some third party app that you found online, you need to seek out any forums or other places where you can ask the developers of that app questions or where you can report issues.

There is no rule that says you can’t speedrun a game or a type of game. It may not be accepted on this site for LB tracking, but you can speedrun whatever you want.

Whenever the mods for the game have the time to review it. Mods are give a three week window to review pending runs for their game’s before they are considered to be inactive (but at the end of that window you should message the mods to check on the status of your run).
I assume it wasn't because it was short, my run was 54 seconds, and I have seen runs for games shorter than this on the site.
Actually, this was probably the exact reason your game was rejected. Games that can be finished in such a short amount of time are generally rejected on the site nowadays. There’s no hard threshold on how long a run has to be to get accepted as far as I know, but it sounds like your game definitely falls under the “short/trivial” rejection reason if it can be completed in under a minute.

As for games with shorter runs, those games were probably added before the site started getting more strict with what games they accept. The site doesn’t retroactively remove any LBs that previously existed, they just get stricter with new boards and games.

(Of course I’m not site staff so I won’t put words in their mouth, but given the information you provided, that’s my take on your rejection reason).

Yes, it is designed to work like that. Changing any field on the run requires re-verification by the moderators.

If you want a couple examples of why it works that way: you wouldn’t want anyone editing their description to be something inappropriate after verification, or if video links for multi-part videos are in the description, you’d want to make sure those didn’t change. Those are just two examples, the latter is rather specific to some edge cases, but the former can apply to pretty much any game.

 1. All sorts of games have ILs, not just racing games. If it’s a brand new game to the site you want to submit, I would advise against submitting an IL with the game submission; I would always go with a full game run.

 2. Posting them to YouTube is good, I would not post them here to the general forums of the site. None of the forums on this site are made for self advertisement so I would advise against that.

 3. There is a pinned post in the Streaming/Recording forum that is an excellent starting point for streaming, I would recommend checking it out.
