Welcome,

I can see that you're already breaking some records on the leaderboards. Nice job! If you ever want to talk about the game and its speedrunning be sure to stop by the official Adventure Pals Discord server that Massive Monster created. It's quiet right now but its a good way to talk to the community and the developers when they aren't busy. I'll post the link below. Hope to see you there and hope to see more records broken.

So I am curious after looking at the rules for any% and 100% about why it stops at beating Mr. B instead on the point were it transitions to white to the cutscene just before the credits, or even when you finish on the last dialogue before that transition. Since you still have control over the character in the next part (where you can still even get a sticker) until you finish all the dialogue to even get to the credits.

I'm just curious since its different than the rules for most any% or 100% that I have known in speedrunning where it ends when you can no longer control the character anymore or at the moment when there is nothing at all that can be done just before the credits roll (Example: the exact moment you k.o. the final enemy in a fighting game).

From what I have seen the IGT is loadless. So it shouldn't matter what system your playing on. The loads will only matter with non-IL runs, such as any%.

In addition if one was to program a loadless livesplit for this game that would take out loading time in general. I think it could only work with PC however because the program reads off the processes going on within the game.

Yes video proof is required especially for WRs on every game and leaderboard on this site. There have been means by even using a video camera if one does not have a capture card for consoles (see the Splatoon 2 Level Leaderboard to see WRs recorded on a video camera of the person playing, its still video proof to an extent).

I'm aware that the moderator submitted a run without video but they needed to submit a time (which is an accurate time from test run I did) in order for the leaderboard for this game to be accept and exist in the first place. In time I am sure they will have a video of a full Any% run but I would rather have this leaderboard exist at this moment than having to wait for it to exist.

This is the official Adventure Pals server set up by the developers. There is no speedrunning channel but it should make it easier to communicate with each other, present ideas faster, etc. Plus it connects with the rest of the community and the developers themselves. The link to the server is down below. Please notify asap if the link does not work. Looking forward to seeing some more speedrunners in the server.

I'll move the link over to Resources/Tools tab if everything works fine

Well, I think that is a fine idea having a screenshot for ILs but I would say there needs to be requirements in order to submit a screenshot otherwise a video is required of the full run. Such as if you reach a certain time one would be required to submit a video instead of a screenshot. I know there is a tech issue on your end but this is a requirement I have seen in all speedrunning leaderboards for certain reasons that have happened in the past.

My suggestion for this problem would be to use the Livesplit timer during recording if the in-game time is having issues while recording. Unfortunately it would have some problems because it would have some human error in it because the timer would need to manually started and stopped.

Its unfortunate that such a tech problem has occurred. Hopefully there is a way to record without encountering the issue. It's might be recording software based, hardware based, or possibly even game based.

Will Arenas be added to the IL leaderboard?

Update: Been doing some tests on what triggers this glitch, with different controllers and different situations presented. Unfortunately not only does it seem to work for one certain type of controller, PS4, but also that the glitch only works because of a program, DS4, that I use that makes the computer think that the PS4 controller is an Xbox 360 controller (cause there are lots of games out there that only recognized the Xbox controllers).

I am unsure if this can be used at all for speedrunning, even in its own category not only because of the very specific hardware but mainly that the cause of this glitch is a result from a program outside of the game. As far as I can think about this right now is that it seems like this glitch is invalid because it only happens with a program outside the game itself. I just need a little bit of verification just to make sure that reasoning is correct.

So its possible to skip some fights in story mode by mashing the start button on the controller. Which can save minutes on a single story. This can be accomplished by mashing the start button on a controller. You will know the glitch is working when you will be able to see some of the background art fade in a little, then blackout, then background art fade in, and so on until you enter into a fight that won't let you skip. I know this works on PC, going to test if it works on console soon.

Here is a video of just some of the timing that I got doing the Start Skip Glitch. There is a 5 frame difference from when you press the ok button to pressing the start button.

If the game does not let you perform the glitch you might have to uninstall Skullgirls, delete the Skullgirls save folder, and reinstall Skullgirls.

There are couple items that issues that are trying to be worked out. First is that there are some points that if the start skip gets abused it can cause the game to crash. Second is that there are ways to prevent this by just skipping cutscenes calmly and continuing with certain fight however there is a chance that the credits after the Marie fight can soft-lock. Which is okay for IL's since its past Marie's death (or other characters death) when time stops but presents a problem if one wants to do a full story run or original story run. I will try to provide data to when you can and can use the glitch.

I will continue to collect data and hopefully provide solutions to some of the problems listed above. Any help or questions are welcome.

Hopefully I can provide more data soon. Cheers.
