Happy Friday all!
On Monday I submitted a new game to be added to the site (Street Fighter II Gameboy). After further research, I realized that there is a section in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior for the Gameboy Color port and no runs, which I assume is for the game I submitted. Should I notify anyone, or let it become it's own separate leaderboard (since I have no problem moderating)? Thanks for the help everyone!
Good luck on the runs, I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Welcome Vince, search around, there are plenty of games to learn! Good luck on your runs.
Welcome KillChurch and good luck on your runs.
I second DarkerStix, most games are fairly easy to learn the basic speedrun, but get harder as you use faster strategies. Generally, the time spent grinding will directly correlate with the speed of your run, so play something you enjoy so you can commit to learning those faster strats!
My laptop was very old, and streaming was near impossible due to the CPU being underpowered. OBS Classic and Xsplit were too much for it to handle, but I was able to make local recordings using OBS Studio (which seemed to put less pressure on the CPU). I would recommend giving it a download and seeing if you can record using that.
The only other alternative that comes to mind is a new computer unfortunately. Let me know how it goes, and welcome to Speedrun.com!
More than half of my PB's were recorded off stream during practice.
Is this a dream? +1 swag to this site
Welcome to the site!
Since the game is broken into chapters, you could ask for there to be a section for ch1, ch2 etc. . . Mario Kart has leaderboards for each track and Smash Bros has them for each character so it can be done, just up to the mods whether there's enough interest to warrant it for your game.
Smw is a great game with many learning resources. It can also be as short or as long as you want, with 11exit having a 9min record and other categories being over an hour!
Generic response: run a game you love to play for hours!
My response: Kirby's Dreamland, it's shorts, easy to learn but hard to master, and has a big community
Welcome buddy! Only a Modern Warfare fan, or do you have other favorites too?
I mean, I don't think any of these conditions look unreasonable. Twitch has 24-hours to maximize on clicks before you can export to YT, that seems fair. And the fees are no more than using a Square reader (or something similar) to accept donations, or selling anything on Etsy (or the like).
Welcome to the community, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Just don't feed the trolls!
What genre are they into? How long of a game are you looking for? The more details you give, the more likely you are to get a good answer quickly. My blanket answer to this question is Kirby's Dream Land or Mega Man 2.
Yep, like Timmiluvs said, ask the mods of the particular game when in doubt. The more popular the game, the more likely there is to be stipulations for running it.
