I checked my settings on the pc version and all of them had a third number. I'm not sure what to tell you. I asked some of the other runners to see if they came across this and if they know how to fix it for you.
I think I will re look into the whole 59hz thing in the near future. I proved dragon dance could be done on PC with a controller and on 60hz. Sainiku is the one that came up with the keyboard and 59hz and while keyboard is the better option or a combination of keyboard and controller, I am still not fully convinced on the hz selection.
It's a pretty good run especially all stages. Any% is also fun and the more competitive run, but I really like stages 2 and 3. It's a good time to get in besides you 2 other people have picked up the game so maybe ppl can find some new tricks or bounce ideas off each other.
With this new discord app that I just found I am looking into making a channel for ppl to hang out and ask stuff, setup races and the like.
Heh, since you/most of the community seem dead set on banning PS2 emulators what in your opinion is a solid PS1 emulator then? I was just doing runs last night and I don't feel like wasting my time if people are just going to play the "You only got this time because of x; therefore it isn't valid." bs.
Besides that, I feel making all difficulties separate categories is the best solution or making it easy and xtreme only. There is always going to be two camps that want it where it's either getting the fastest time possible in a game (easy) or look down on easy and want a challenge run (hard). From what I have read and seen if anything Normal is the odd man out since it's about 15secs slower compared to Easy and should be the one removed if that's the route that is going to be taken.
Other then that I am to new to the X6 scene and don't really have an opinion on the other stuff listed. I would just like to know what is valid to use and run so I can get back to getting sub 50.
Turbo buttons are not allowed. Everything I do is pure mashing, but we do use a technique called dual mashing which is using the attack button on keyboard and the controller so that might be what you are seeing on certain parts. (I'm flattered you think I use a turbo though! Watch guesst or Kfnappa if they ever do runs again. I'm amateur hour compared to them on mashing.)
If you are on PC I recommend using the rebind guide on steam and finding a setup that works for you. This will also make Dragon Dance and the +1 slashes you need for the jump after sisters 2 MUCH easier.
Check out guesst's tutorial it shows and explains all the new stuff.
Hey Dionis, sorry for the late response as you can see these forums don't get touched. So if you are on PC in your options menu you can select your resolution and the end number should be your refresh rate.

Dragon Dance can be done on all systems BUT Xbone and PS4. It might be possible, but guesst and Kfnappa couldn't do it when they messed with it on the PS4 version so I have to think it's just not possible.
Hope that helps any other questions ask here or hit me up on my YT video or guesst's new tutorial for the game which shows a lot of the newer stuff that Sai's does not.
Hey Chuckles,
For any of the categories the default health and difficulty is used.
All Stages does not include Stage 0 since it is a special stage you unlock. It's just 1-5.
I will look through Frankies vod's, but I don't think Frankie backed up a lot of his older stuff so it might be deleted. If anything watch my/frankies run as you start out then Gouki's for the harder boss kills.
Hope that helps, keep at it this is a fun Strider game to run!
(Also no one has really decided on what constitutes 100% so ignore that category. I'm debating on just getting rid of it.)
Hey,
So I saw Crow's run for QFG and thought it was amusing that old school adventure games are speedrunned. I was wondering what is needed for 100% in one of the games in the series. Is it just doing all the quests or do you need to max the stats out also?
Hi Jonny,
To do Savage Slash you press down, up, and then Jump and Slash (simultaneously). Normally this is done while in the air, but if you do this command on the ground you get the short savage slash which is used a lot in the run. Also another thing you can do with the short savage slash is you can slightly control the direction it travels which can be helpful to dodge the terrorists attack in Stage 1. You just have to grind it out and keep practicing to get them smooth.
Now that I am mod I will post a twitch.tv guide of the game in the guide section so you can get a better idea of the movement and tricks in the game.
If you have any more questions let me know!
