I'm still going to have to pass on this one chief.
Looks alright for a challenge, but as a speedrun it seems not that great.
Zombie spawns are mainly tied to FPS yes. Higher framerates will result in more zombies being spawned usually.
EDIT: To clarify, FPS isn't the only factor that determines zombie spawns, but it sure does help.
When you submit your run, you can select PS3 as the platform is was run on. I don't think it warrants it's own category.
I've just found out it's actually located in Circle J, in the Magazine Rack. it just blends in quite a bit with the scenery and the rack.
I've found only one other reference to this item searching round and it came up with this quote:
"The team at Explosm even go as far as to toss in a funny “Red Herring Magazine” easter egg for people that really click on everything they see."
So I'm assuming you get it after literally interacting with everything in every way. If not, then there might be some other thing to it.
I don't think Trinity Boulevard is really too relevant in this case though, as I tried going around and interacting with everything there to see if it'd pop.
That's weird as it was working for me just a moment ago, but when I tried another run it wasn't working. might be something to due with the new update that was rolled out yesterday possibly.
I've tested it myself and it works fine! If there is a way to start and end it in Cheat Engine, it can always be reworked at a later date to include those values.
- You can mash both the Spacebar and Left-Mouse button to skip through text quicker.
- Spacebar can be used instead of clicking on an object.
- Number keys 1 (Look), 2 (Use), 3 (Talk) and 4 (Telekinesis) all correspond to different actions. You can use those instead of clicking icons
- The Plastic Bag near the end can be grabbed with the Flypaper without having to look at it.
- Use WASD or the Arrow keys to move closer to an interactable object before using it to reduce Coop's Walking time.
- Try not to spam Spacebar and Left-Mouse button too much whilst in front of a door as you can accidentally enter it instead of moving where you want to go.
- You can use your mouse and double click on an area transition if it's in view, even if Coop is located quite far from it. As long as it's visible on the screen, you can travel.
Excellent, thanks all! I have now created a 100% category ready for anyone to tackle when they so please.
I think the items are the ones you get throughout the main game and side chores. The only one you don't technically is the Football Helmet in the Boys Locker Room so I guess that one will be easy enough.
I think the item counter is so large as it will include items from the other parts when they're released.
I think for the sake of brevity, if we were going to go by trophy accumulation, Speed Demon and only one Starsky and Hutch trophy won't be counted, but the rest of the stuff will.
For 100% I was mainly thinking of Main Chores, Side Chores, All Costume Pieces, All Got 'Ems and All Items in one. Didn't want to separate those into their own categories as that'd be messy, plus All Side Chores is decent enough by itself to warrant it's own category.
Now that there has been a patch rolled out to fix some of the bugs with this game, I was wondering if people would possibly be interested in a 100% category?
This would include getting all costume pieces, Got 'Ems, Side Chores, grabbable items and finishing up the main story.
Would love to hear everyone's thoughts!
Yakuza: Dead Souls
Pros:
- Fun and simple speedrun
- Great cast of characters
- Totally didn't rip-off Left4Dead mutants
- Less than 3 hours long
Cons:
- Only on PS3
- Can crash, the most infamous being during the finale
At some point I want to learn a Pokemon game (probably one of the mainline Gen 1 - 3 games), Bully: Scholarship Edition, WORLD OF HORROR (When it's out of Early Access) and tempted to try Persona 5 NG+ as I don't think without a lot of practice I could tackle NG on that yet.
As long as the picture is reasonable without too much pixelation it should be fine. I know quite a few Wii runners use cameras due to not having capture cards. As long as nothing is obscured it should be all fine.
I personally would love to see Pokemon GO get submitted as an avid player, but realistically there is nothing in the game that could count as a speedrun, apart from possibly one to battle each Team Leader once in a practice battle. Even with that though, there's not much that can be utilised.
I would just save your recorded attempts and upload them onto a Youtube channel to document your progress. Not worth continually submitting it here as it will always get rejected.
My personal favourite soundtracks are Pokemon Emerald, Danganronpa (all 3 main games) and Persona 5. Got some great tunes in there that I can't help but to bop along to when I'm working.
Hello everyone! I'm streetbackguy and I've been here for months now but never really introduced myself.
I enjoy speedrunning and have been motivated to ever since watching AGDQ and SGDQ many times and have now submitted a few runs myself to this website.
I'm all about learning fun speedruns (even if I'm terrible at them) and meeting many new friendly faces along the way!
Currently I run Dead Rising 2, Dead Rising 3, Hearthstone and to some extent, Simpsons Hit & Run (but I'm still learning it right now!)
Pleased to meet you all!
