Question, how are there runs claiming to be "Act 5 - Trauma Difficulty" when Act 5 does not exist on Trauma difficulty?

Oh awesome, that's great to know as well! Thanks for the input Snakeob!

Oh, awesome! Thanks for the quick reply TheMadWasp!!!

Went and read the guide you mentioned, but I don't see anything that answers this.

Story% run video also ends early...

So, was considering running this game, but I have to ask. Is there a reason why moderators are submitting and self-approving runs that don't meet the requirements for said run? Was looking at doing Greenview%, but the current #1 run is a self-approved run that doesn't actually go through to the end of what the rules say the run should include.

Not throwing any shade, but I am curious about the clear discrepancy there, and am looking to have it cleared up before spending time doing this game for a speedrun.

As far as I have been able to tell you can't even record footage for the PC version

A bit more information: I record/stream using OBS Studio. I have tried all the different recording styles and nothing has worked thus far. If I us a wrapper such as dgVoodoo the game crashes on boot. Programs to force it to run as a windowed program such as DxWnd and D3D do not seem to work as the game either crashes on boot again (DxWnd) or opens as fullscreen regardless (D3D).

Hey, so far nothing I have tried allows me to capture the game footage on PC. Anyone know how I can get this working?

Yea, it's shit like this that constantly brings this site under fire and calls the legitimacy of any record on this site into question. This site needs a total overhaul of their moderators.

Who knows. The Mod has continually ignored requests and the admins of the website refuse to do anything about it.

Maybe try submitting it under the wrong category. If it gets rejected for being the "wrong type of run" we may be able to get additional Mods added that will actively listen. After all, "just submit it" is the attitude the site admins take.

Technically, it's not inaccurate emulation, playing it on the N64. It runs how Nintendo intended, and you can only play if if you plug the cartridge for Pokemon into their PS game. The most sense would be for it to simply be a different category.

Wouldn't those runs simply get rejected and the person told to re-submit as an EMU run?

Liv,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I will reach out to him via Twitter and see if I can reach them to have a second mod added in. How would I submit a time for a category that doesn't exist? I wouldn't be able to select the correct category, would I? If I take these steps and there's still no change can I post back here to see if there's something we can do? Thanks! :D

EDIT: Sent over a note via the twitter (last active April 29th) and YT channel (last post 1 month ago), and will swing into chat if I happen to see him/her on and streaming (last stream at end of May). Hoping I can come back here if I don't ever hear back at all. :(

Out of curiosity, what constitutes "inactive"? For example, we need another moderator for Hydro Thunder (N64). https://www.speedrun.com/ht

HT moderator is active, however he is not active regarding the game or requests. We have category requests that are over a year old and the moderator has never once responded to anyone nor have the categories been added (or even addressed). And these requests have been open for 1+ years! One moderator is simply not enough with that kind of activity. Despite the fact that they log into the site they're neglecting their duties as the sole mod for a game. Does that still count as "active"?

EDIT: I also feel it's worth noting that category requests that have been ignored include a 100% Game category and an All Bonus Tracks category.

There are already multiple times using an emulator. All the top times are with one, however emulator times are hidden by default for the game.

Awesome, good to know! Thanks! :)

I haven't ever seen Leo respond to anything, and you can't PM people yet on speedrun.com, so we have no way of knowing how active they are atm.

As for the question's answer. My assumption would be that it works just like the All Track records for Easy/Medium/Hard track sections, which is any boat can be used on any course. The reason being that, currently, the only records currently listed for Hydro Thunder are IGT and essentially a time-attack of a select few courses. Menu time and such does not (thankfully) matter, as the final time is converted to simply the sum of your track times. Again, simply a time attack.

If you wanted something like that then we would need the addition of a % based category. Since these are in RTA menu time, time spent on races lost, everything would be counted. I can't think of any designated place to end an Any% category on, so unless someone found glitches that let you bump past race requirements I would say that what you're looking for is a 100% category. I don't see why this isn't already on here, and I agree that this would be an awesome category to run, but then again we also don't have an "All Bonus Tracks" category. Who knows why.

I am getting ready to submit a PB for the All Easy Tracks split. While doing so, I managed to get my current PB times for all 3 tracks. Can I take the full run of my All Easy Tracks and cut out everything but my PB run of a course and submit that for the Single Track leaderboard?

I don't understand why it's not already a thing... especially since this came in a year ago or more. Is the moderator for this game not active?
