After doing the first run on V1.45 I can confirm the listed (Game Rule) method of turning off holiday event content doesn't seem to work anymore. Maybe change things so that you're just not allowed to use holiday content that is present, until a reasonable way to turn them off is found?
In fact, at some points they even get in the way of doing the normal run. Seems like a pretty bad idea with the current structure of the game to simply have large periods during the year when no one can even run the game. Making this change may help bring more people into the community!
As a side note, is there something special you need to do to skip the Tutorial as well? That doesn't seem to be working for me either. It's like there's an invisible wall preventing me from going onto the fence.
Does the glitch at 206 still work in the current version of the game? I have tried it multiple times now, and each time the owner goes right back inside the house.
I get this when I click on it:

Ok, did a full cache clear on my browser and now I am seeing the correct video. Not sure what was going on with it before.
Hmmm, I'm seeing the 100% one there. I'll have to clear my cache and such and check again.
Just curious, but the Any% record says 5 minutes 59 seconds and the rules say that a video is required. However, there isn't a video for the run (video linked says 100% in 14+ min).
Just a clarification question, since everything I've done speedrun wise has been single segment, but does "Segmented" mean that you can do a stage over again and again in order to get the best time you're able to? If not, what is the difference between a "Segmented" run and a "Single Segment" run?
Yea, if you go to "Preferences -> Graphics Settings" on PC you can disable video options, which prevents story VODs from playing. These seem to include the story text before all (new & old) missions, story cutscenes before missions, etc. Unsure if it includes treasure events and such, as I haven't gone that in-depth with testing atm.
Boxmen123, which PC emulator are you using to run this game?
Ok, from just a couple minutes of testing it doesn't look like the game is letting me change my keybinds on the F310. However, I did find that I could disable all video features (new and old levels) by disabling the video playback option (Preferences -> Graphics Settings). In the event that you need to replay levels, it also looks like you can disable story events (Game Settings -> Discovered Story Events). As of now, the only things I seem to need to skip is the pre-level screen with all the dialogue bubbles. Still need to do more testing to see if the Discovered Story Events option effects new events as well as events from previous stages, and specifically which story events or videos it effects.
Let me test this out, will follow up in a minute. Also, on a side note, if anyone does play on PC do they happen to know how to back up a save file? That way I can keep 1 (main) save file for Dream Log and then do the load reset whenever I want to do Any%.
I am looking at running this game in the future on PC, but I use a controller to play (Logitech F310). On keyboard, the Spacebar allows you to initiate and confirm skipping a cutscene, but I cannot find the correlating key in the Keybind section and no button on the controller seems to do this. Does anyone know how to set the controller up to allow for cutscene skipping from the controller itself?
Ok, I'm a bit confused regarding the timer as well. Is there a reason that Any% uses RTA and levels use IGT? This is even more confusing, given that Dream Log seems to be based around IGT as well. Even Co-Op NG+ uses IGT rather than RTA. Why the glaring discrepancy in how Any% and the other categories are all run?
Also, a question regarding Any%. Since it is a long category, and seems to only use RTA (for some reason), does it allow for things like pausing the timer for the runner to take bathroom breaks, since even the WR is a 4:28:45, with all other runs being closer to the 6.5 hour mark?
This is the jump I spent 2 hours trying to get earlier today (only got it this one time) and am trying to get consistent.
So, I am having a TON of trouble making the 2 speed jumps in the Shipwreck platforming section. Anyone have any advice for being able to get consistent at making the long jump over the gap and the jump over to the bear platform?
Yea... you do realize that in pretty much every game changing FPS is banned, correct? In fact, it's considered cheating...
Also, hope ggcookies is active again to help you out soon. Never a fun time, trying to moderate a speedrun community alone!
No worries, thanks for replying so quickly! Figured it was something with the highlight clip, just can never be to careful, sometimes some pretty shady stuff goes on in some of the speedrunning communities. Awesome to see you quickly addressing it so openly and honestly! Looking forward to starting to run this in the future after I practice some more and study a bit more of the current routing (and clear my current log of games to set an initial PB in)!
