the patch released yesterday 1.01 fixed the door glitch used in the current "Any%" category, now it is impossible to replicate. I may be wrong, but I'm not able to replicate the glitch anymore after the patch came out. I was able to do it on the previous version 1.00.

I would personally suggest to eliminate the current "Any%" category, make the "No Major Glitches" the main "Any%" category and ban runs using the patch 1.00 (and so the door glitch). If the game had a physical copy I would not suggest this change because you could reinstall the game while not installing the patch update (see for example "Any%" category of RE2remake), unfortunately the game is only digital so nobody can "compete" in this category on Dawn of Fear anymore.

Just for clarifying, to solve my problem on PS4, I re-bought the Resident Evil Origins, but this time the USA Phisical version (ID: 2100549), then created a new PSN User account on the same PS4 with United States location, then installed the new REoriginins game while being logged in the US account and finally "Checked for Update" to install the patch 1.01. I'm from UK, neither the European REorigings Phisical version (ID: CUSA02882) nor the Digital copy of RE0 bought from UK PSN store have ever received the Patch/Update. Just create a US user with European copies is not enough to receive it either. I hope this can help other runners.

Hi mods, not sure if it is just a test or my proposal had succeeded, but I noticed that "SD Console" finally came out of "Miscellaneous".

However it is now out of "Miscellaneous" only on the "NG" category and "Leech Hunter" category, while on "NG+" and "Knife Only" it is still "Miscellaneous".

Can this be solved as well please?

After talking with @Anderson in DM, I agree an Emulator category for this game is nonsense unless there is demand and submissions.

However, despite the fact that nobody has run this category for years, I still think SD Console deserves to be taken out of "Miscellaneous".

Also in RE1R nobody runs SD Console but nevertheless "SD Console" has its own spot in the main leaderboard, same happens in every single Resident Evil leaderboard.

I don't think it is less worthy than "HD Console" in any sense and keep it under "Miscellaneous" makes it a meme category which is not at all for me.

I hope other runners come forward and agree with me.

I would like to suggest moving Leech Hunters from IL "Level-Leaderboard" to the new section "Sub-games".

I think it is more appropriate, the section was exactly created for this purpose. I mean Leech Hunter is not a level of the main game RE0. Other moderators are moving these kind of Mini-Games/DLCs under that section (also in the Resident Evil community).

One additional point on this matter is that it was pointed out to me that Mods can probably choose between two types of "Sub-Games":

Probably in the case of Leech Hunter the first is more appropriate.

This is particularly good for runners because mini-games gets more visibility, a dedicate image and leaderboard, and good for mods because they can give separate moderation to sub-games different from main leaderboard. This is what happened with RE5 indeed.

Unfortunately, since I wasn't receiving an answer I decided to focus and run another game for now. I think this "Console" missing separation is a problem for many games in speedrun.com. It is really much a chicken-and-egg situation. Leaderboards are not split because there are no Console runs, and probably there are no Console runs because the leaderboard is not split. :)

I hope someone will solve this, I may come back to Control in the future. I'll keep an eye open.

Hello folks, I would like to suggest a couple of changes to the leaderboard, in order to have more consistency with the big brother "Resident Evil (Remake)" leaderboard and have more clarity and fairness overall.

1. I'm not a "SD Console" runner (..yet), but I find it odd that "SD Console" is under "Miscellaneous" while in RE1HD it is not. I think it deserves a place outside "Miscellaneous" just like PC, PC(DS) and HD Console, also because this can easily put-off potential new runners.

2. Again I'm not an "Emulator" runner (..yet), but I believe "Emulator" should have its own separate category under "Miscellaneous" just like RE1HD has. The fact that a category it is not clearly stated can put-off potential new runners. Also I don't think it is fair to mix-up "Emulator" runs with SD Console runs.

That is just my two cents. I look forward to receiving your opinion.

Not only for specific game related differences but just for general differences like Frame-per-Second, Keyboard/Mouse vs Joypad, loading times, IGT calculations etc. I mean there is no game out there where a PS4/XB1 has a faster time of PC where the same runner play both device, or anyway when different "top" runners compete one vs the other PC vs PS4/XB1 no way Console wins ever. I would especially strongly suggest you to add the separation in the future Dying Light 2 from day one if you are going to be the same mods. You will see an equal amount of submissions. While now it may be too late to spark a lot of competition on "Console" for this 2015 game.

Surely PC has a big unfair advantage over Console (see FPS etc..) and this put off me and potential console runners away from this game. It's pretty rare and unusual not to see this separation. Furthermore, games that have this separation usually have an equal amount of submissions PC/Console, while games that don't have this separation usually don't receive any submission from Console players (becasue what's the point on learning the game and make an effort right?). I hope you will consider it.

I do not agree with you only when you define with effort the behind the scene: buy hardware, japanese gift cards, setup software etc.. I mean, with effort we should only describe time spent running the game.

I obviously still disagree on the solution as not separating the categories, at least all console or just SD/HD in order to see if this increases competition. Obviously it is fair to assume that nowadays there are more XboxOne/PS4 than PS3 out there?

I'm sorry for PC/EMU since it has so much potential in opening up the game to a much larger audience, but I get your points.

Let's be honest this is one of the least speedrunned RE games despite the fact that it is probably one of the best RE games out there. Nobody will ever bother to beat a WR in GCN, Emulators, Dreamcast, PS2 or PS4 and put a real effort unless there is a separate category.

It seems to me that this game is moderated like a private club. @uhTrance I respect you as a runner, you are the best, and used to follow your streams, but I must say I don't like the way you represent this game being a moderator, with poor arguments against potential runners excited about running the game. You should be an ambassador of the game and be open to pretty fair arguments from @Victor.Kratos @Khomchik @west4it @dveki @serg_d11 @WitchRain @Poppo @MrPopo333

Let's all you top runners be honest, if the version of PS4 came out recently was for any reason (menuing, dialogs etc..) quicker than the version for PS3 and people started to beat your times you would have created a separated category for PS4 immediately! You would not have been so happy to just use the filters and say "hey I have the best time on PS3" while not actually showed first in the "all together" leaderboard.

My two cents.

Would it be possible to have new level-run categories added to separate Desperate Escape Josh/Jill runs as well as Chris/Jill runs in Lost in Nightmare. The Solo route is totally different depending on the character, but at the moment everyone will always choose Jill in DE and Chris in LiN. Does it make sense?

Hi guys, any plan to add category extensions level runs for all DLCs (NG+) /(Cat ears). I remember someone suggested this, but nothing happened. Was this voted down and I missed it? Sorry if so. There is a good competition for the DLCs level run category, I guess the cat ears extension categories would have success too.
