There is an in-game timer, though I haven't done any testing with it yet. Ideally it can be used to cross-compare platforms. For the sake of the auto-splitter it should already exclude load times.
Looking to help make an auto-splitter for the game. I've found some pointers that point to addresses that indicate loading: https://pastebin.com/PaYKsyxn
Depending on the routes for Any%/100% there can be leaderboards for each world. If worked with an auto-splitter they can be done simultaneously during full-game runs, acting as a leaderboard for each segment.
Minigames can also be be added; the site plans to add support for points-based leaderboards in the next large update. I do have a recording of my time for Kartos Kart which isn't that bad but can still be improved.
(unrelated but here's a cover art that fits better with the rest of the site http://imgur.com/a/nqABJ)
Requesting moderator of Body Harvest.
Also requesting deletion of Cold War Crisis and Frank Herbert's Dune. They were added without any runs existing and serve no purpose being on the site right now. They've been sitting there with no activity for nearly 9 months.
I'm working on making scripts to automate the majority of the process. May take longer than the weekend.
Edit:
I just noticed the Project 64 resource suggests 2.0 or higher. Those versions are universally banned on every other game:
The game just may emulate poorly. If you'll allow 2.0+ then at least keep console and emulator runs separate.
Just asked the game moderator, should be on now. For future reference you were doing the right thing. If they don't respond they may not be following the game so try and contact them through other means.
Since there's a Splatoon sequel that's guaranteed to have speedruns, there can be a Splatoon series. I know the super mod MoveFishGetOutTheWay is still active on the game and I believe moderator TonesBalones is as well, so they can be made series mod. It'll let them make the game shortly before its release.
Made cover arts for some games without any: https://imgur.com/a/h00R5
There's quite a few games that are more difficult to make something for, good example being the Half-Life 2 Cutsceneless Mod.
Maybe as an option for users to enable but off by default. Users shouldn't be forced to follow just by submitting unless they want that to be the behavior.
It's not forcing users to follow; if they have a real problem with it they'd just turn the setting off, and with the first submission clause it would only happen once in a while. It's to encourage users who don't notice or care about the follow feature to keep tabs on the games they run. It's especially useful for unpopular games.
Highly active users would be well aware that it exists; it's primarily intended for those who aren't 'power users' of the site.
Suggestion: Have users auto-follow games they submit runs to. This would be toggled in settings and on by default. If it's possible, have it so it'll only auto-follow if it's their first submission, even better if it's the first submission since the feature was added, otherwise someone who runs a game (and doesn't want to follow) would be rather harassed by it. Applying it retroactively may not be a good idea, unfortunately, but retroactive follows may be good for moderators that existed before that mod update a while ago.
I can see why the submission wasn't considered a "substantial run". It's 1-1 done in nearly 2 seconds. The level isn't even remotely complex. I would have used a better level as the example. But being condescending to the staff isn't going to do you any favors.
