Same way you'd do it on desktop, go to the game, then the category, and submit a run. Posting it here is pointless.

Sometimes you just have to busy yourself with other things and wait for a day you know you can play.

Real Time is the time it took using an external timer. In-Game Time is the time the game lists once you have completed it. How IGT works varies by game.

Though I do remember a few weak attempts I made playing web games quickly, my first real introduction to speedruns was watching SM64 and SMS speedruns on YouTube. Years later after I had forgotten, I caught an AGDQ (2015 I think), which helped me realized speedrunning was an actual thing, though I don't think I knew SGDQ existed. Later, in 2016, though my interest had waned during inter-GDQ months, I somehow found out darbian achieved his 4:57.260, found him and a few other speedrunners through SRL, eventually made a Twitch and SRC account, and learned about the community. Though I knew for many months that I wanted to speedrun, I did not start until last July, when I realized I owned a game that would be perfect, looked it up, found an (unfortunately dead) leaderboard, and completed my first run.

@EmeraldAly Loading times aren't too important unless you're going for wr, but I was talking about other potential differences.

Modern games optimized for multiple systems will have minor differences at most. Older games are more likely to have larger differences, and emulation can be inaccurate or not.

For the purposes of streaming/recording, it's generally easier and cheaper to do it on PC.

It's on desktop also. Seems to be just that post.

If you just want a world record, it's pretty simple to find any game with one run and beat it. Generally the more obscure a game is, the more its wr will be unoptimized, unless some runners are very dedicated.

Popular games are good if you have a goal that isn't immediately wr in mind. It'll be incredibly difficult to catch up to runners who have been honing their art for years without getting used to it.

It would be a single game (game series would be something like Mario or Sonic), but it seems you've already requested the map and it's been denied. If so, feel free to do speedruns, but you won't be able to post them on this site. In general the moderators are trying to cut down on unnecessary game submissions.

Regardless, if you ever wish to submit games in the future, the process is:

Click "Single game" add link to website describing page, like Wikipedia or Steam (to show game significance) add link to a video of a speedrun (usually full-game category, to show at least one runner is interested enough to handle the game) add game name add release date add any notes

Check again but I'm willing to bet it's been turned down.

NES/SNES games are simple enough to emulate. Keep in mind web games are also an option.

Looks like the moderator for the game hasn't set it up. I'd contact them or if they're inactive, which is likely, a content mod.

It might be worth a shot but most games on this site use RTA (no pausing) timing. You wouldn't be able to submit it on the leaderboards.

If you want your runs on the boards but don't have time for full runs of SMG2 shorter games will be more accessible. Look through games you already like and check out their speedruns. There's a good chance you'll find at least one good game. Games you know are a good start since you'll be playing it a lot.

If you're going to go through the trouble, it's simpler and easier to just emulate on a computer. Doing that means the process you used isn't variable and not repeatable.

I presume most SNES games are already on the site.

Who would run it, route it, and not get upset over RNG? This just seems like a very hostile category.
