After the recent update, the ticket cutscene between games is unskippable, meaning runs performed on this patch are at a significant disadvantage. I took this opportunity to update the timing rules to make all categories fairer going forward. Each game in a run is now timed individually, with sections between removed from the final time. Note that making cuts in your videos is still very much prohibited. Queue times no longer count towards multiplayer runs. The biggest side effect of this change is being able to switch decks between games without a time penalty, so have fun with that.
All existing runs have been retimed as of this post.
Retiming Guide
Retiming your own runs is completely optional; the mods will retime them anyway. YouTube videos are the easiest to retime using https://slashinfty.github.io/yt-frame-timer/
Timing each game starts the first frame the loading screen fades from black, which is the same frame the loading icon disappears. Timing ends the first frame the opponent's "Kaboom" is visible, or the first frame "Opponent Disconnected" is visible in multiplayer matches. If you lose a game, timing ends on your own "Kaboom" or the first frame "You Conceded!" is visible. Add the times of every game for your total time.
Example: The first game in this run is retimed to 1m 08.000s. The second is retimed to 1m 21.667s, then I quickly concede a game that is retimed to 2.967s. After adding all the games together, they total 16m 07.733s, rounded to the final time of 16m 07s.
As far as I can tell there is no way to deselect Glow Chums after Level 4.
Am I missing something or are the "Any% No Glow Chums" and the "100% No Glow Chums" IL categories mostly unrunnable? If so I'll delete them.
Hi! I recently started running Glowfish and noticed a few issues with the category organization, names, and rules.
FULL GAME Firstly, “Any% Glow Chums” uses a preexisting file, meaning it should be called “All Levels” (specify in the rules that they are played in order). I also suggest replacing “Any% No Glow Chums” with a true “Any%,” meaning beating the game start to finish on a new file. No Glow Chums is a rather uninteresting category, though you can always bring it back if there’s demand. “Low%” is a very niche category. I would suggest removing it until someone shows interest. “All Glow Chums” and “No Death” seem redundant. The former is just an Any% run that ends at level 40 while the latter is optimally a good Any% run (as soon as someone gets a deathless Any% run, the No Death category is just Any%). This leaves us with “Any%” (Rules: New file), “All Levels” (R: Completed File, Play levels in order), “All Achievements” (R: New File), “All Glow Chum Upgrades” (R: New File), and “100%” (R: New File).
INDIVIDUAL LEVELS The rules for what frame the timer starts and ends are unclear. The “100%” categories should be renamed “4 Stars” as not to get confused with the rules of full game 100%. Finally, the five world categories at the bottom of the board should be moved to full game under “Misc.” (Now called “Secondary Categories” I think?).
Please implement these changes yourself, or I suppose you could make me a moderator. I won’t be inactive on this site any time soon and would be happy to verify runs.
