Congrats!

Why did it need to be retimed? I know it's only a tiny fraction of a second difference, but just curious.

I agree, there are too many subcategories and it needs to be simplified. And Wanuke’s proposals seem about as good as any. So I’m on board.

One thought, platform does seem to matter when we’re talking about ILs. Stage 2 has a platform-manipulating trick that can be done on 3DS, but not on PC (if I’m not mistaken). I don’t know if that justifies trying to do separate platform categories for ILs, but just something to consider.

New player here. I'd definitely be interested in some guides and such!

I don’t speedrun TM2, but I do love the game and might get into running it eventually. Has anybody considered doing a separate category for each character? So you could have an Axel leaderboard, a Spectre leaderboard, a Mr. Grimm leaderboard, etc? I think that could be interesting. It would give people an opportunity to play their favorite characters competitively and not feel forced to choose the most efficient character (Axel or whomever). Just a thought.

Yea, we shouldn't have too many categories, in my opinion. And difficulty level doesn't seem as meaningful a categorization as alerts vs. no alerts. I would vote to remove beginner and normal difficulties. Also, should "no alerts" also include the rule of "no civilian kills"?

I'm favorable to a "no alert" category as well.

I haven't gotten totally stuck like that, but I know I've clipped that same block before. I always knew there was something wonky about it.

Nice trick!

As I'm sure you know, IL simply means individual level. That doesn't necessarily mean non-segmented. Some games allow for segmented IL runs. I just think it would make sense for the rules to specify, even if it's something that most people assume is not allowed.

In IL runs, are you allowed to quick save and load? If I'm not mistaken, the timer does not reset when you load back to a save point, so that's why I ask. I'll understand if it's not allowed though, since I typically don't appreciate IL runs as much if they include saving and loading.

On second thought, saving and loading may not even be worth it, because if you have to do that, then you're not very likely to get a noteworthy time. But maybe the rules should just specify anyway?
