There was a silent update to the site a few days ago - all forum posts are now limited by 1000 characters (which is not a lot by any means). I guess that old posts that have more than 1000 characters, can't be updated because of it.

Also, you can't cheat your way by changing the "maxlength=1000" property of the textbox; they have server-side validation for it.

I understand. Just note that this wasn't meant for fixing any bugs, just returning the forums/leaderboard pages to be similar to how they were before. I just noticed that I can see your forum post just fine with the wide center bar.

You can report that bug in the support hub I guess; none of us can fix that without workarounds like mine.

You can probably fix this by applying some CSS changes to the site, that were posted by @1 some weeks ago. (I don't remember the original thread) Use a chrome extension that can apply CSS changes to websites (I use the extension "Stylebot").

Let it access speedrun.com, and then paste the text in this pastebin: https://pastebin.com/4GyEPMac

Those changes will get rid of the right sidebar while viewing the forums or game leaderboards, and extend the center bar to fit the entire screen.

What is the problem exactly? what happens (or how your screen looks) when you try to edit your post?

If you are asking about making a TAS of a specific game, you should probably go to: http://tasvideos.org/

That site is the dedicated to Tool Assisted Speedruns, and there are resources and forums that could help you.

If you can't play full runs in one segment, due to how long they are; then two options:

 • Speedrun shorter games. You can find many games where it takes between 1-30 minutes to finish them. You don't have to go for the 1+ hour games.
 • Do speedruns of individual levels. For example in Celeste, you can submit a run of each level separately, and those of course will take much less time to run than the full game.

As Walgrey said, the majority of the games on the site require you to do a run in a single segment; so don't get your hopes up for it to ever be possible for you.

Also:
Solving it is not as simple as something like the travelling salesman problem
This is exactly the travelling salesman problem, which is impossible to solve in reasonable amount of time with current technology.

(Sorry about double post, apparently we have a limit of 1000 characters now)

I recommend watching this video by ThaRixer / @Ricky, where he talks about the complexity of the speedrunning elements, including routing:

For simple or short games routing can be easy. But if you take bigger games like Fez, where:

 • You have to take a certain number of collectibles, but not all of them
 • The game is not linear, so you can go to many places in any order
 • Sections can be shorter or longer than others, but the time to reach them should also be noted
 • Taking note of who is playing - a TAS that can do everything perfectly, or a human that might not be able to do some stuff

Things can get very messy. And no computer program can solve this problem for you automatically in a plausible amount of time. There are people who dedicate themselves to routing a certain game. But even after years of the community working on routing, the popular route might still not be optimal.

Not on the site. You can contact site-support about it, through the support hub: https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/supporthub/request-support

And maybe they will help you.

You should start by asking the runner directly, or asking the Half Life community in their forums. Just because something seems like cheating to you, doesn't mean it is cheating. The community of the game made the rules for the game, and decides what is and isn't allowed in runs. They can explain the reasoning for the rules much better than the general community here.

To me it looks like you either play on android apps (so you play on "android"), or you play on Google Chrome (and then you play on "web"). So "chromebook" platform in itself is not needed

Not related to batteries or controllers because I play on PC.

But one time my entire neighborhood had a power-shortage, while I was near the end of a run (25 out of ~30 minutes). Too early to tell if it could be a WR or not, because the last 3 minutes have a lot of potential for time loss. But I was on a good pace.

This kind of misleading advertisement will get you nowhere. Go post your idle/clicker game somewhere else where people are interested in those kind of games, like https://www.reddit.com/r/incremental_games/

As it was discussed in several other threads, right now the only options to get rid of the ads are using an ad-blocker, or using a dedicated ad-blocking browser (like Brave). It's not clear what is the future plan of Elo for the monetization/ads on the site.

Ask the moderators of the specific games you run, if it is allowed. Alternatively, you can ask them to add "PS5" to the list of platforms of the game, and then you can submit that.
