There isn't a huge demand to have this information, as far as I'm aware. If anyone does time differences then go ahead and share it on here, but it's time consuming (geddit) for someone to just do for another's sake
Good point, but there are more complications with Crash 2 and not really appropriate to post here, as far as I'm aware.
Speed drama is great amirite
Quick post to explain the situation and hopefully stop the shitposting pls thanks
Crash 3 mods as a whole were under discussions as to why the fuck are there so many.
Teddy, you were removed because you are still relatively new to the scene, and feel you are not suitable to mod the boards as of now. Also shown in your reaction, it's quite clear you have the wrong attitude.
Kollin was added as he on the other hand knows the community far more and has been around a lot longer. Being banned on twitch is irrelevant, especially as it was through no fault of his own.
If you have further questions then might as well directly message people instead of posting it here for everyone to laugh at, although good job making our days that much better.

It'd be a shame to abandon it, but I'm gonna be really biased here as I've already booked stuff to go.
Still, be nice if people wanna come along, even if there's no running or anything, I guess?
Once again it's a case of "Community" over "Going fast". I thought speedrunning communities wanted to go fast, so why is there this split?
Thing is, as of the moment the best played run isn't world record, and people realise this, but that's because the runner decided not to save the free 50s available. And why not? For community reasons and some shit about viewer experience idk. Nothing is stopping someone using NoSFX. If they care about viewer experience over their own times then why are they even speedrunnning?
To address the "But I like to have sound cues", you're basically saying you don't want to use NoSFX because the game becomes harder. Not everyone agrees that sound cues are beneficial, but if it's more difficult then so what? Aren't skips and glitches difficult and save time too? Why not ban skips because someone can't do them and they lost world record? Like, understandable NoSFX isn't a "skip", but it saves time at the cost of potentially making the run more difficult.
It's another case of being stuck in the past and people don't like change.
Can someone explain to me why having a "consistent" end is more important than a good time? Or an improved world record? Are you all caring so much about the viewers that the actual speedrun part doesn't matter? Yes we all enjoy watching speedruns, but is it really that bad to end on a random gem and, god forbid, confuse your audience who love you so much? Is finishing a run in a level really going to make the 100% category "arbitrary" (I mean c'mon what's that about)?
What's the big deal about consistency too? Why does every Spyro game have to end on the credits?
Yes I'm ignorant, and no one is saying you have to do the fastest route, but at least allow it as an option. If someone gets a record and second place doesn't want to do the best route then that's too bad for them, they're choosing to handicap themselves.
I've also heard that some people may not want to do early Ripto because they've worked so hard on their route, or they don't feel like adapting. But again, no one said you have to do it.
The point I'm making is to allow early Ripto, and then everyone can choose what they want to do with regards to their own run.
Also the poll is probably not the best way to decide this as it's open to everyone, and that's basically getting rid of the whole point of this thread.
Well, seems as though it's a case of "Should the run look complete and we've done it this way for years" against "We can get 100% faster".
Imo the aim of a speedrun is to go fast, not do some "complete" run to please an audience. Allowing early Ripto isn't going to force everyone to do it that way, so they can always beat Ripto at the end of the run if they prefer. Obviously all the past times will then become "obsolete", in a sense.
I don't know about others games and if they have any similar issues, but if fighting Ripto a second time at 100% doesn't give you anything extra then why bother? It could be seen only as another entity on the run that you need to complete to get 100%.
Just my opinion anyway, I don't play Spyro 2, so I'm looking at it from a general point of view for a run.
I guess another thing is having credits somewhere in the middle instead of ending with them, but you still load them at some point.
E: Don't fight Oxide twice in Bash 2hundo B)) (meme point, but still stands)
tl;dr go fast
lose frames and run NTSC-J DotDash
DotDash DotDash DotDash DotDash DotDash DotDash
I kinda posted this before checking the CNK/TWoC boards, but the comparison layout does look pretty good actually
And thankyou Peter, I try my hardest
I like the idea of removing loads as a comparison for runs, however I don't think they should be the main leaderboard for that game, but there as a comparison for all the runners. (maybe a new category?) Having the option for people to remove loads from their own runs to see how it stacks up seems fair, as long as people don't abuse it, and people don't claim their SDS run is better therefore should be WR (etc.) Definitely should be for games like CNK with console variants where load times are severely different, but PS1 games should be more for comparison, if anything it's for competition too.
'Silly Categories' isn't a game though, makes the boards like kinda eh putting them there, especially with no image for them. I don't know the reason behind why they're a thing to begin with, and tbh joke categories shouldn't be on the boards anyway imo, but they'd look better under their specific games
Not one to post on this kind of discussion but just a couple of things
Removing the load times means the run doesn't exactly become RTA in the same sense. Just keeping a note on what the differences are, NTSC-U/J and PAL, SDS and FDS, will let people compare their runs to others. That way runners can see what their run could have been. I like Dactyly's suggestion, and keep all the information on the boards for those looking up times.
I'm not a fan of the idea of someone getting a free WR just by having faster load times, but it's allowed on everything else, and with FDS, newer and more optimised WRs are set, and people can still see how their time compares if they run on an inferior version or on SDS.
