Spam isn't defined by how often it's done, but rather whether it contains relevant/solicited information to the topic at hand.

In essence, if a user bumps a thread with nothing new to add to the conversation or for unrelated reasons, it could reasonably be pegged as spam. In that sense, staff could get involved if the periodic bumps on a thread get annoying.

That being said, I doubt they'll do anything about a talk thread. There's been way worse offenders out there for you to get into trouble for this at this point. :)

I agree the wording might have been off, which is why I thought I should shed some light on that matter. My apologies if that came out too strong. :)
removing the runs if they are your runs is ok. but as a moderator just unlist the name and that only in the worst case.

If you are being a total retard by stealing peoples run
@Lor He did not in fact steal anyone's run, I can say that much. He just re-submitted one of his old deleted runs to the leaderboard, but it so happens that the run no longer complies with the current rules, which then devolved into this situation.

My oldest run is on the hardest challenge in Spider-Man 2000, the Peter Parker Challenge, which involves running the game on the hardest difficulty while using a suit that actually restricts the amount of web cartridges you can carry to just 2 (which is really low):

Since that first run, I managed to improve my movement quite a bit, while also learning how to do some glitches more consistently. Given that my newest run in that category is already 2 years old, I could probably beat it again now, since I now know a lot more about the game and found more consistent setups.

Now that I sent you a few short meme games that I wouldn't run in a thousand years, here's some actually decent webgames, from the Karoshi Suicide Salaryman series:

 • If you have the technique to 100% mimic the TAS inputs on a handcam, at that point I don't see any reason why you couldn't just do the run normally and flex on the rest of us mortals, as it would actually be easier.
 • If that's not the case, you may mimic the TAS inputs to a certain degree, but as long as it's properly scrutinized by the mods it would end up revealing the foul play.

No method of validation will be 100% foolproof to be honest, and in the case of Dolphin a lot of games just straight up ban it to avoid this kind of issue, but adding a handcam as a requirement for Dolphin runs would probably deter the grand majority of wanna-be cheaters.

You can mix different sub-categories to get this effect I guess. Look at this example: https://www.speedrun.com/mcce#All_Versions

I don't personally mod games myself, so I don't know how to exactly achieve this effect, but I thought I should just point out that it exists.

I don't primarily run webgames, but I've run a few nonetheless. :)
