It seems you have gotten a response from the game's supermod already.
I've taken a closer look at the video. We have some good evidence that's it not cheated from the video alone. This evidence is an input display, as well as audio (button sounds) matching the button presses in the input display.
And according to his Livesplit in this recording, he has finished 1 run, but made 331 attempts at finishing.
The strategies used in the video are smart strategies from what I could tell.
For example, the dodge of the bosses claws in Stage 5, that can be predicted with some knowledge of the timing of that attack. He almost got hit, for sure.
I do have a concern: That is that during the overworld screen, I don't see an input on the input display to advance the screen. And I don't believe holding right will work there.
Another thing I was not familiar with was the invincibility setup in the beginning of Stage 3. That can be very tricky but I don't know how consistent that particular setup is.
These 2 concerns right now, don't warrant an removal of the run. I am curious about the overworld screen though, that is strange that I don't hear or see a button to advance that screen.
Please discuss or point out anything else you find questionable of the run. Thank you for your concern.
That sounds like an RNG nightmare.
I don't see the point in having a multi game for minecraft if there isn't any interest in it, and this is the first time I've heard someone suggest for it to be added. A problem with this is that most people don't own every edition of minecraft. Most people either play java, bedrock, or console. I don't know anyone who has all 3. I doubt that this would be an interesting or popular category anyways though.
this run 90 minutes only did it so that i could do the first run for that category
the main reason it took so long is not because the run is 90 minutes, but because it's hard and i just messed up a lot i've lowered my time down to half of what my original pb was now
i also am a fan of shorter runs, long runs frustrate me. i hate playing through mistakes and am never happy with the end result of a run if it has poor execution in it. for long runs, consistency is more important than speed, and that makes them not fun for me. some people like @Walgrey and @O.D.W. like long runs though, different people have different tastes
anyways usually it comes about that i'm the one to start up a community / i'm the most active in them (or have the most time). maybe i'll be running a game too much and the mod will give up and just give me mod so i can verify my own runs, or i offer to help set up a board, etc, these are all cases that i've been added to a game as mod for
good answer but i think he was talking about site staff, not game mods OP is already a moderator of a couple of games
yeah they think they're funny but they're not
i didn't even make a joke
@actuallyelite your question probably isn't going to be answered, elo doesn't usually read these forums, and they respond even less frequently. all I know is that @starsmiley and @Meta were volunteer staff when @Pac owned the site, and were promoted to elo staff a while after elo bought the site. the other staff members are workers at elo. I haven't met any of them and don't know how they got their jobs. if you are talking about game mods ("staff member" is a weird way of saying that if that is what you mean) there isnt much of a story to that for most people. for me it's just I requested a game onto the site or i had to get an inactive mod removed. nothing interesting here
Having a features allowing mods/verifiers to verify guides before they're added would be good.
That's one of the upcoming mod tools that will be added in the next major update. Guides and resources will also be merged into a single "Guides and Resources" tab.
The mod tools will absolutely be good when they come out, some of the features have been requested for years. The problem is some people are unsure if they will ever come out because of how long it's taking.
My advice is to read the FAQ thread, it might answer any questions you have. After reading that, feel free to ask any questions here. Welcome to the site!
a very major bug
i agree that there needs to be a changelog for the silent updates
probably because they didn't like people making fun of them and spamming pepega
is it a 12 eye
I'm redoing my previous post
My proudest achievement by far is my mobility world record. I love this game so much, and I've spent hundreds of hours practicing and running this game. Out of all my thousands of attempts, this is my fastest run yet, and it's extremely clean. I usually do much shorter runs than this, so getting a near perfect run in a longer and more difficult game is something I will always be proud of.
I got a 1:24 time in frog king. This run is perfect, and without a new strat the time will never be beaten by more thank a couple tenths of a second (and getting a faster run would be very hard). I only have a screenshot of my time, but I do have video proof of a low 1:25 time.
I broke an almost 2 year world record in super blue boy planet. This took a lot of time and I'm happy with it. Only mistake was missing a hard strat in level 17 which cost me a second.
I tied the world record in the brutally hard demon castle any% category. The game is very RNG heavy, and almost all of my runs died very early in the game. On the occasion I did manage to make it past the start, my run would die to the very difficult fast bridge cycle, which requires 2 frame perfect jumps and a third very tight jump. After all of that, I have to one cycle the final boss while nervous. Super happy I was able to finish the run.
It's the message sheephello sent me a bit before they deleted their account
