Ahh okay, that was what I was wondering, thanks for the answer <3
Reviving a dead thread here, but did we confirm that it would be impossible to time that final jump and shot to A. get far enough away that it would register as a teleport and B. would still be carrying the upward momentum from the jump (for the first video posted)?
Hello! I'm currently learning the Hard 100% run, and while going through Dim Hideout, in the room with the dudes who poke downwards, I had somehow gotten my head stuck in the ceiling, and I slowly started to raise up into it until I ended up on the platform along side those guys. Has anyone else encountered this before? It was the strangest thing, wish I could have gotten a recording of it.
Late reply to this, but I believe what I was complaining about was Remix 2 Stage 1 as I haven't figured out how someone could get anything faster than 2.1 seconds. I didn't know there was another board as well!
Isn't that already the point of each level category? Doing the min moves is just doing the run faster.
A bit of a gripe on my end, as I'm currently working through every level in the game trying to beat the time/tie it (have about 20 levels done so far), and seeing levels like Remix 1 level 1 have the record be a few milliseconds below the next one and not having any proof to their time (afaik) is a bit annoying.
Oh and I went ahead and submitted the first fourth of my stream's runs, and will finish those tomorrow!
Well two weeks later and I finally set up my elgato, and streamed running the plays all on twitch, so just need to clip them now!
Edit: Would there happen to be a discord for this game (and others in it's series)?
Hey all, I'm curious as to if the mods would accept a hand recorded video of a couple of the times I got on the Super Mario Bros 3 ILs, since I still need to get another hdmi cable before I can record the game directly/steam runs.
Thank you!
I'm glad we still have so much attendance for the game :) I've been dark for a couple months due to school and having had my laptop get destroyed, but I'll be back on the discord at some point, once I get a replacement.
Thanks for keeping this alive guys! And what happened to Ghuia?
Can my name be changed to MarsAugustine please, transitioned from MtF and need my name updated.
Thank you!
So, as the new moderator for this sub, I have changed a rule (or rather started a rule) that I feel necessary for this game. Now, while I don't think anybody is cheating, I ask that from now on runs be accompanied by a video, else they will not be accepted. There are plenty of easy and free video recording softwares out there (OBS being a good one) that can easily record this game, so I ask all runs be recorded with timer as well so that all runs can be verified.
Thank you and have a great day!
Good morning! I'd like to request being a mod on the Bloxorz page (http://www.speedrun.com/Bloxorz), as both moderators have been inactive for months and any attempts to communicate with them have not proven successful. I have runs for the first two categories that have been sitting in the queue for over a month so far as well showing their absence.
Thank you and have a great day!
Nickname: TaiyoGamer Country: USA Game: Out There Somewhere Category: Any% IGT or 107% Estimate: 8 minutes / 15 minutes Video: http://www.speedrun.com/run/pydnrxvm for Any%, http://www.speedrun.com/run/pydn8xxm for 107% Commentators: Myself & BeardedBusker (if available), a few other members of the community may also be available.
I run every category in this game but those two categories are my strongest (previous record holder for 107% too!).
About the game: A highly technical platformer/shooter involving plenty of OOBs glitches and frame perfect jumps. You utilize a teleporter gun (similar to Portal) that allows your character to teleport to wherever its shot lands.
Donation Incentive (If wanted/needed): Any% RTA is a five minute run of the game that uses the Smoke Overflow Glitch to skip right to the final boss fight in the game from the starting room. The glitch takes exactly 2 min 42 seconds to activate in the room, and with a little OOBs movement causes the fight scene to trigger.
Time Preference: Late night to Early morning preferred so any time between 11pm-6am would be awesome.
I hope everything is alright with yourself too OP, keep yourself and your close ones safe! My heart (and the hearts of the rest of my community) goes out to you guys.
Hey, is there still time to sign up for this? I have a couple different runs for a game I would like to submit :)
Skritz I agree on that point, HAPTKEYM should probably just be the name as that is the goal of the run.
This as a Misc. category would most likely make sense as it is definitely not a major category since it has a small added rule, so I agree with that too.
For All Achievements, we definitely need some more discussion on what that will become. We've seen a couple different attempts at a run, and as it stands having it be an RTA with a reset shouldn't be an issue since A. there are other games that allow resets (heck, Any% RTA has a reset in it I think), and B. those would still work even if somebody was able to beat the category without resetting.
On that topic as well, we shouldn't have to force SAM to be used for achievements, but the downside will be in increased difficulty of making sure runs are valid. If mods are fine with this, since this category probably won't be uber popular anyways, then it isn't too big of a deal (although some might find difficulty with tracking, there are always splits on RTA timers that you could use to track, although that is clunky).
Basically, the all collectibles part of the run is redundant, and 107% is no longer something you need to go out of the way to get, so the run is rather redundant right now. I propose that we transition the run over to only needing to kill all the enemies (minus the ships at the start) so we can have the run be clearer in scope and more concentrated in what it is trying to do. Plus, since the run only deals with kills, all the runs in 107% would work for it, so a transition would keep all the runs we currently have.
Hey all,
While I was recording a short tutorial on how to do GBJs (will be up tomorrow, I can hardly talk right now), I accidentally discovered a couple of things in the tower:
One: There's a breakable block in the bottom right corner of Crumbling Sector. Two: Its probably frame perfect, but you can jump on the breakable blocks right before they break.
Now what does that mean to us? Well I managed to record a quick video showing what I mean by all this:
Basically, there are two GBJs that you can do in the tower, that seem to save in total close to (now this is just a guess) 1-1.5 seconds. The first one being in Upward Sector, you can just jump onto the ledge instead of going around the other way, and in Crumbling Sector it is possible to GBJ from the beam onto the block that the blue beam would normally connect with and bounce off that block to skip having to do the jump on the blue beam. Plus, if you break the blue beam block while you're going up the green beam then a recovery from there is easy.
I don't think this has been posted yet, nor do I see people doing this, so I hope you guys get something out of this! :)
