I'm wondering because mav did it twice in his run in -1 and -2, and I am wondering how to replicate this
I may be jumping to conclusions, but I have tried to do wrong warp both TAS and RTA, and I just get the same result where the screen scrolls past the part where it would usually drop you off, then it goes ALL the way back up to where you were individually. I'm pretty sure that I am doing the inputs correctly as well
The recent update (a week ago Keepo ) that said Nestopia runs do not require input files has brought some questions in my mind, such as how would moderators know what emulator you are playing on, if you had a layout like mine where you can't see the little bar of what rom you are using, what emulator it is.
So, after I complete a run or something, do I need to switch my scene to show that I am using the Nestopia emulator?
I did a comparison of ImDangerous20's 3:43 and my 3:42 a while back comparing how we each lost and gained time over each other, and I noticed that ImDangerous20 had bopped the last koopa much later than I did, yet he was actually ahead of me afterward, can somebody explain this? (skip to 2:55)
In this video, the beetle says that I got bad judges, then I hit the star block but I didn't hit it on the 1st pixel, and then to prove I got bad judges I killed the koopa in the 2 block high thingy which you can only do with bad judges I believe, and then the flag moved down one pixel saying I got good judges
Uhh, I'm typing this as I go Everything I type is not deleted so I am basically speaking from heart This is terrifying lets go on a trip When I started speedrunning, I was having a blast, just having a great time, PBing, just enjoying the process a bajillion. I was NOT a good player obviously, but with a what I believe to be, a growth mindset. I used to be really good at improving, and I could go ahead and just simply practice, everything was really smooth going and I focus, and improve. Not everything was perfect all the time obviously, sometimes I encountered problems but was always able to get past them. I kept this ALLLL the way until I got a 4:59, where everything just went downhill from there
I'm basically telling a life story of my Super Mario Bros. speedrunning, I guess, but I kinda want to tell the whole thing.
I know my goals are really ambitious, oh yeah, just go from No PB to a 4:59, and oh yeah mr. krabs I got a great idea go from 4:59 to 4:56 (I didn't actually decide this in the first place, it just started with ImDangerous20 and I just decided to keep going cuz ye boi)
Everything started going downhill since I was going for 4:56, yes I was improving, but here's what happened to my mindset, my mindset was going down. Eventually my mindset got bad enough that it became a FIXED mindset (I'm pretty sure) and then I was, uh, STUCK for a month.
That was a few months ago, I'm a little better now, I'm improving but veryveryveryveryvery slowly. I still have a fixed mindset, I don't like it. I don't like coming to practice this game, and it's either I have fun or I, don't know. I might just simply have to practice really hard and then just hate the game woo hoo apbbbbbbbbb.
All I'm saying really, is, I would like to approach challenges in a positive way, approach setbacks in a positive way, approach goals as a way of extrinsical motivation but not something I would focus on. Does anyone have any tips for working towards getting a growth mindset?
If I get a run that's better than my any% PB, does that count as a First quest PB? (I'm assuming no but just making super duper sure)
I'm wondering, is there a setup for BBG if you enter 8-2 on framerule 528 (1 framerule ahead of the standard framerule you usually get there on for BBG) just in case you accidently save a framerule?
Note: This is not for those who will grab the mushroom in 1-3
I found a way to get 1-3 FPG while doing nothing special at all except for Sockfolder setup at the end. The platform that you HAVE to step on that happens to get in your way, you actually can stay on for a specific amount of frames (3 frames and jump on the 3rd or 4 frames and jump on the 4th, a 2 frame jump essentially) and simply do Sockfolder inputs at the end.
I've been having trouble finding the original one, and this is the one I found, does this count? http://friv2.racing/cubob.html
What the title says, and is there anyway to get around this? He doesn't always do this.
There is actually another run that he did, (5:11.03 on his channel not retimed) I retimed using his timer, I'm not sure if patterns are different and if they would apply for PAL with the spreadsheet, but I noticed, that his timer was actually a little bit off, he started 0.10 seconds early, and ended 0.02 seconds early as well in that video, so it would give him a 5:10 actually. Funny that it took 4 years to notice this.
I have this TAS, I was curious to see how many frames there were so I made a TAS to test it out, and here it is If you don't like how I was trying to be exciting then ok If you already knew this, nice
I have this video, and I think I did it perfectly, but the game still crashed, does anyone know why? Is that normal?

So I thought I might try this game out, I am playing on FDS emulator, Nestopia, and I have this FDS rom that I am using. It looks fine but I get 6 fireworks when the timer says 370 or has a 0 at the end, and I get 3 fireworks when the timer says 369, or has 9 at the end. Also for some reason if I pause the game then unpause it and I have one of those digits on the timer I get no fireworks. I am very confused as to why this is happening, can someone pls help?
This is me getting the underground without pressing left, I got 1-D I also got 1-F somehow without pressing left either I thought it was interesting so I clipped it
So I am just worried, because for the day I may PB, and get a time like 4:57 or lower, would it not be accepted? I do stream and my attempts of SMB are in Past Broadcasts of my channel for the last 15 days are there. I haven't submitted a run yet and I was wondering if this would be a problem
I've never seen this before, but I am wondering is this actually worth trying to do, actually gonna be easier?
