Is there any consistent way of doing the Bowser fight? I understand the fireball skip at the beginning but am in need of learning how to fly above until I can get the next hit with the clown car.
Also, I'm making a return to the community. Nothing epic or grand though.
I was just wondering with the new Out of bounds glitch found in 4-B(?) if there will be distinguishing "glitched" and "glitchless" categories now?
Or is the run not short enough / is there not enough time save to make a huge difference?
Opinions from mods and other runners are welcome.
So I have a relatively technical question (might add another later.)
I'm not quite sure of the answer to this... I would like to know what the frame rate of this game is? I would think it's 30FPS just because it's a relatively pixely game, frame perfect tricks aren't too hard to do, hit boxes aren't exactly the best, etc...
Or am I wrong? Could it be 60FPS?
So, IL's are pretty new. I get that. But we're ALREADY having runs being posted where:
-
The person (Lets face it, so far only one person has posted IL runs [I'll still keep them nameless, for the sake of not actually calling somebody out]) is starting with the Acorn Power Up, which does give a slight speed advantage over what the rules state are allowed.
-
The person is still posting the times, even without video proof.
SOOO... If I may suggest, it should be a requirement to have video proof that you are following all the rules correctly, and to remove the rule about not being allowed to start with a power up if the level doesn't provide it. It should be possible to 100% ANY level with the power up provided in the levels, whether or not it's faster with the acorn, as otherwise, it doesn't live up to it's predecessor; NSMB Wii, and alternate game; NSMB U.
Also, posting pictures and posting them as screen shots is a very easy way to get around not needing a video, as you could easily take the world record (specifically of the 100% run) and screen shot that part of the video at the end of the level.
Could we have that happen, as well as removing all the runs that don't have video proof?
I was wondering if there was any video of an "All Castles" run, where you go through every world any% doing all the castles with the koopa kids (not the towers) and being required to do the airship right before the Soda Jungle.
Could somebody post it?
There's a small mario run on youtube, but it's not that great to me.
I'm not necessarily asking for a new category (though it would be cool to see). I don't even run this game, it's just my favorite of the NSMB series to watch. I do plan on learning it when I get it / buy the system.
I'm curious about why you need to do every level in the world for the any% run. Perfectly cool to make it another category, but I just posted a W1 any% run RTA, and didn't include 1-A and 1-3 because they're not required to get through the world as fast as possible.
Is there any way that could be updated? I know other people would appreciate this as well.
So I'm in the process of mapping a 100% route for NSMB DS and would like to share it around to be seen.
This is a very hard thing to do in this game specifically because of how stupid the RNG is and personally I would like to see more single segment runs of this game, because the execution can be very brutal for a simple mario game.
With that in mind, there are MANY different ways that this could be done, but this is just a rough idea. If there is anything that you guys think could be edited, let me know and I will look into deciding on a change or not, or you can post a simple level order in this thread if you think this one doesn't work.
