OK follow up to my previous point. I thought the 2 hour run for SM63 was pretty slow. We just had a run submitted that's over 4 hours. No vid, so I can't really say exactly what they were doing. But that's really pushing the limit of what I could believe is someone trying to go fast.

OK then you didn't need to post this. We can't do anything more then they can.

Probably best to go to the mod for the game they cheated in.

Please talk to the Madden game community and ask them. You will not get anyone who can help you asking here.

With what? There's two different viewpoints being stated here.

Here's a novel idea. What if you wait a week so your account is old enough? The site and the game aren't going anywhere.

Leaderboards are allowed to set rules requiring video to ensure authenticity of runs. Until such time as you are able to record your footage, you are more then welcome to personally track your progress. I can see from your post history you're interested in SMB. If you can't afford a capture card, I'd encourage you to point a camera (maybe your phone) at your NES.

This is definitely someone looking for an IRL category. They're allowed very tentatively on existing boards because those are originally video games. Really shouldn't be, IMO, but better for them to be tucked away there then haphazardly thrown up on a whim by anyone who wants to do some random activity fast.

I think there's a point where someone very obviously isn't trying to speedrun and is just playing the game. I'm a verifier for SM63, a game where the Any% WR is 6:34. Anyone who knows about the two major (intended) skips for the game can very reasonably get a time under 15 minutes. We had a run submitted (and accepted) recently that was over 2 hours. The guy didn't know about these, repeatedly went AFK, had no real route planned for himself, and watched the WR during the run after completing about 75% of the "normal" progression of the game to figure out how it was so fast, then finally used one of the skips. This is not necessarily to say that these kinds of runs shouldn't be accepted, but I think it definitely shows a lack of both preparation and dedication.

I was gonna say Goldeneye 007 but Doom's probably more likely

Clearly. Go to the forum for the game you want a category for and ask there. If the game does not exist, request it.

This seems like one of those guys who wants us to use the "Fastest Known Completion On The Site But Not In Reality Because Some Other Better Run Is Buried In A Dark Corner Of The Internet" acronym or whatever it is

OK so I think the solution here is to request it again and start over.

Since when does the site delete leaderboards?

Yes, that is a run. You're welcome.

There's a fair number of flash games that have been added fairly recently. As an example, check out Oreo321's repertoire.

I don't get why people like death categories. Who thinks "You know my favorite part about this really long and intricate game? Dying. I wanna kill my character a bunch instead of progressing through the world."
