Dart I hate you so much right now
I put this in Legacy because it was recorded before corner clipping got patched. Regardless of whether they use glitches or not, all old runs will remain in legacy to avoid confusion with the main board.
A glitchless split already exists, the problem is that this just removes lag clipping - Not corner clipping, dance clipping or any of the other glitches we have.
The members of the AF2 community have just came up to me and told me that lag clipping has been patched. For those not in the know, it's a trick used to clip through 1 stud thick walls in roblox, and as far as we know, there aren't any alternatives to it.
As a result, AF2 and probably several other boards under Roblox will now have to be wiped or put into legacy because of this.
Just lift up the lever before taking the toast out smh
In laymans terms - should we remove checkpoint RNG from the main game.
This has no impact on the speedrunning community outside of ease of practice, but if done will patch out some of the frustration regular players have to deal with to enjoy the game. It's essentially a bug and it would go against our namesake "restored" if we didn't patch it.
This would also include allowing players to reach the pocket dimensions early through lag clipping OOB, which is a feature I implemented for the speedrun version only. (This includes preventing the symbol door glitch to appear as I added invisible teleports beneath Sky Emporium to prevent death)
If you guys vote yes then any future changes will be implemented to all versions when we make them, including consistent death times if we ever get that consistent.
Another thing to note- We should also probably make powerups and certain objects client sided too so large servers can no longer screw over other players. I think these changes will make the experience far smoother in casual play.
This is slower than Dooshbag's wallzip, and even slower than W1 TBMS. Practical for maybe glitchless.
All of them? Including stuff like window skip?
My take is that glitchless runs should exploit oversights in the map, and not tricks that abuse the roblox physics engine. Trying to define what is a glitch via unintended methods is difficult as we cannot know the intent of Roblox, or of Explode1. We can guess sure, but when it comes to edge cases guessing just isn't good enough.
EDIT
We now have a glitchless ruleset. You may find it in the guides here - https://www.speedrun.com/af2/guide/mp121
In AF2 we have glitchless categories for most things (except for IL's), and one thing I noticed is the severe lack of any documentation on what is and isn't considered a glitch in AF2.
Not many people run glitchless seriously, so this hasn't been a problem, but I do want to finally get this out of the way and define it properly for any future edge cases.
I've got a simple strawpoll setup with a list of different stuff, from things that some would definitely call glitches to things that seem to have no reason being in the list at all. It's probably not comprehensive so if there's anything missing please inform me here or via my Discord.
To vote simply click the tick next to a thing you consider a glitch. So that's ticks for glitches, no tick for non glitches. Eg: Corner clipping = Tick, Window skip = No tick.

If you do vote please write a response to this forum post detailing your reasons why for each thing you voted for, and why you thought the things you didn't vote for don't count as glitches. Once I have the permission of the other mods and community support I plan on finally releasing a list of all things we consider glitches, and we want to gather as much opinion from everyone in the community before we make any drastic decisions.
Thanks for your time.
Minimal buttons run would be interesting
It appears to me that the changes are only visible if you turn on "Night mode" on your user settings. Not sure why, will have to look into that.
Still wish we had a way to get under the map to talk to Yawgate

Swim in parallel lines to them and you should survive.
We have ways of skipping worlds now with lag clipping, it might be interesting to revisit this topic and see which stars and symbols we can collect so far.
