I don't know what caused this, but it can probably be used more and/or made consistent.
The Diddy Kong Racing remake for the Nintendo DS is objectively better, with an overall polished look, more playable characters including (but not limited to) Taj and Drumstick, touch controls, DS Mic™ utilization, bonus tracks, wish races, vehicle customization, and balloon touch challenges. All in all, Diddy Kong Racing on the Nintendo 64™ ranks a 4/10, while the Nintendo DS™ counterpart ranks a solid 9/10.

I understand the difference between 79 and 96 vs 120, but I don't see the difference between 149 and 150. It is literally one collectible away from being the same category. I don't think it's a fair comparison, and I can't think of any other category in any other game that does this. Can we pick our next least favorite star and run 148 star?
It's part of the game, and I think it's arbitrary as speedrunners to nitpick what parts of games we like and don't like and just remove them. It feels lazy. I understand the attraction of it, but it should be kept as a practice or race category rather than a competitive category (3:42 labeled as "WR" is an absolute joke).
it was a mod messing with the categories to put the new route option on the boards. demo desync, read the rules for the category

Emulator is allowed, just make sure you tick the box when you submit your run.
I don't know anything about PC but I know PS2/GCN are identical outside of loads. If you decide to run on PC I'll look at the run first and see if there are any changes, but most likely it would be added on as a platform.
