Yeah I've seen that when trying out the game - they're still individual stages in the sense that each of them is just one of 60 packs. I've actually started running the levels 1-100, that feels more like a miscellaneous full-game run
I think that would help uncram the Misc tab of the full-game leaderboard, and it also kinda fits seeing how just 10 levels are not a full-game run
Individual level. It means it's a speedrun of only a segment of the game, rather than from the start until achieving a full-run goal
It might just require years of grinding. In SM64, the 120 star WR's difference to the 2017's Human Theory TAS got down by about 35% since Siglemic just from better movement, plus 56 seconds saved by new (hard) strats. I can well imagine the WR's difference to the BTT splice to go down by a similar percentage, as well as the BTT time itself to noticably decrease over the years
You can't leave Bowser's before completing it
Oh yeah, I remember this glitch from my time of playing AoE2 - never knew how it worked. Amazing that it's consistent!
- Hide it is just straight out co-op between an uncontrolled number of players and should be banned outside of very specific meme categories imo
- Find it, as long as you aren't accepting any friend requests, is not co-op, but may still be too random and multiplayer-heavy for most SMO categories including likely Assists
- Luigi's tutorial is entirely singleplayer. However, it still requires an internet connection and may eventually be removed, causing it a risk to eventually get removed, which currently kills its popularity for all current coin grinding categories, and potentially also for Assists
@Coolboy1738 That's the flexibility issue I talked about. Yes, the current wording would force that, potentially making the naming system fragile if 1.3 or any later version doesn't change anything significant
The leaderboard split has been discussed, voted on, and decided after much consideration. However, this does not seem to have been the process for the naming of the new subcategories. It has been suggested for reasons of flexibility, neutrality, clarity, avoidance of homonyms, and practicality to instead use the more basic and direct names "1.0/1.1" and "1.2"
Also remember that not every runner splits at the same points in the run
Cap is an exception together with Cloud, Ruined assuming Ruined 1 only fought the boss, Moon assuming Moon 1 didn't collect any moons and purples, Mushroom if you exclude Toadette and revisits, Dark Side, and Darker Side, but for the other kingdoms there's pretty much no good way to define a "kingdom clear" category. Two AUM runners might do completely different combinations of e.g. Wooded 1 and Wooded 2
In contrast, categories that could work would be All Moons No Revisits (excluding Toadette in Mushroom) or All Purple Coins NG+
Nipple% is a category because it involves gathering 1000 coins across 3 kingdoms, which is a significant amount of global routing and makes the category very different from Any%
Sounds like some effort to set up and to route, though I'd probably watch it
Minimizing the sum, I suppose
Minimum jumps/capthrows
All Story Moons is basically World Peace except that it bans clipping, first moon skip, Meat skip, and any other story moon skips we may discover in the future
Sadly some of the nuts require the moon rock - should we do Nut% NPG or Nut% NG+?
