Added "Save Delay" (saveloading while a portal is travelling to delay it landing) to the list of banned glitches in Glitchless.

When you click on a run, you should be able to click the dots in the bottom right and the options "Edit run" and "Delete run" should be there.

Also if anything is ever wrong with a run, it'll be rejected instead of floating in verification limbo lol. Verification just usually takes a few days.

There is no (good) way to play multiple demos at once. For submitting, just leave them as they are.

The proof-rule "Demos including the vault.dem HAVE to be submitted if you decide to use the save to skip the vault, videos are not sufficient." has been removed from all categories. This means submitting demos is no longer required for runs using the vault save, just a video is sufficient. Please keep in mind though that SOME sort of proof (either demos or video) has to be provided for any run.

Open up the console ingame and check what the build number in the top right says. Source Unpack is 5135, in some of the earlier versions of the game the crosshair doesn't disappear at the end.

It's probably the difficulty level that's messed up somehow. Try putting skill 1 in the console, that should set it back to the regular level.

As its own category it so far didn't make much sense (mainly the lack of runners). You can however specify the platform when submitting a run, and you can even filter the leaderboards by console if you wish to see all xbox runs for example.

Signups for the 2018 portal inbounds tournament are OPEN! https://challonge.com/Portal2018 I am happy to announce that speedgaming will be hosting the tournament on their various twitch pages

Important Information: -All matches played will be BO3 -99% of matches played will be restreamed on speedgaming -The tournament format will include a group stage into a double elimination bracket -Group stage seeding will be based of off PB time -Group sizes are TBD -Registration cap is TBD -The tournament is open for ALL players that wish to participate, no skill requirement involved in signing up!

If you buy the roundabout and leave the shop at the same, the closing animation will play but you will still buy the roundabout. The timing can be a bit tight (especially since you gotta make sure to not exit before buying). During the animation there is also enough time to buy the lobber.

If I recall correctly, most people think it happens when you mash too fast in the beginning (so skipping the cutscene and quitting out of kettle's house). If it does happen, just restarting your game will fix it.

Recently, a trick has been discovered called the Menuglitch/Pauseglitch. For anyone unaware, here's a quick rundown of it: You do a parry-animation mid-air, get hit and pause at the same time (within a small time window). This will keep the game running but you will still have the menu open. If you now finish the fight and then quit out, you are able to skip the scorecard+contract, saving about 14 seconds per fight this is done on. Here is a quick video of it This is possible on Run&Guns aswell as all bosses except plane bosses. In a normal run (say Any%/All Bosses) this would save over 3 minutes if done on every boss.

Now, some people have voiced concerns that this trick might make the run considerably less enjoyable. We did get some mixed input from you, so we are putting up a poll to resolve this matter.

Before voting, we would like you to inform yourself about the Menuglitch, aswell as please try it out for yourself, as we think this heavily contributes to the decision. Note that if No Menuglitch is created as a seperate category, this will most likely be moved to a new Category Extensions leaderboard, or possibly just as a Misc. (though we currently prefer the former).

While we did get some other suggestions on how to handle this, we think that this will only make the boards even messier than they already are.

The autosplitter can handle the current timing aswell (I believe you have to select King Dice Contract Cutscene). Also there won't be any changes to the current timing rules unless absolutely necessary, since that would require retiming all the existing runs.

You're good, as long as the actions that would require a physical button press on a controller also require a physical button press on the fightstick (most importantly weaponswap).

We do acknowledge that WSG is not a glitch, and therefore Glitchless may not be as fitting of a name for the category. Glitchless rules are mostly defined pretty arbitrarily (see the famous Mirror's Edge Glitchless from last GDQ), so we went with the simple approach of just calling it Glitchless, rather than something like "Glitchless No WSG", as that would make the category name pretty long and possibly confusing to people that aren't that familiar with the game (since it'd be something like "All Bosses - Glitchless No WSG"). I don't think category names are that much of an issue, as anyone who wants to know what exactly the category is about can just read the rules. The name Glitchless is just supposed to give a general idea of the category, which it does well in my opinion.

"I think it's dumb to make an entire new [miscellaneous] category based off banning 1 speed trick because... people dont like to do it or something?" If this was the case, all there would be in speedrunning is Any% and 100%. Speedruns are supposed to be fun and impose a challenge, which is why other categories are created (No OoB, No WW... you know the deal). WSG quite heavily breaks the game (and is a little annoying to do), so it's only natural to have a category for this, especially when a lot of people want to run it. Also since only banning WSG would not be too different from normal runs, the community decided to pack it with Glitchless to get a run that "breaks the game" as little as possible.

I see your point, and we will definitely discuss this going further. We might have done things a little hastily (as things in this game are happening fairly quick) without thinking too much about the future. We probably need a bit of a rework of the boards anyways with the announced patch coming up (which was confirmed by the devs to fix WSG/WSE among other things), so that might already solve our problem of a no-WSG/WSE category.

On the issue of glitch definition: Calling fast weapon swapping a glitch is definitely debatable (and imo it also is just an exploit), but then again Glitchless rules are generally mostly arbitrary, trying to define a run that does not heavily break the game (which WSG/WSE definitely does, on top of being very uncomfortable for many people). Our goal with Glitchless was not to ban everything that is a glitch by strict definition, but mainly creating a no-WSG/WSE category (which the majority of people wanted to see incorporated in a category that also bans other broken things like Quickkills or Phase Freezes, hence Glitchless was created).
