Suggested rules full diomes/runs:
-
Recording starts before deleting singleplayer progress from the menu.
-
Timer start at entering the first level, which does not necesarrily have to be "Off To A Good Start". Random level order should be allowed.
-
Hub map counts towards "Real Time" and has to be recorded to prevent splitting, but the final time is calculated with "In-Game Time" which is adding up all the IL times; for most accurate times and no dependence on the hub map shenanigans. IGT should prioritize the leaderboards.
-
After all levels have been cleared "Real Time" timer stops and runners have to show their level stats (to be able to calculate "In-Game Time". Recordings always should include the level stats after a run (either a full dome or the entire run).
These are just my suggestions; would love to hear your thoughts.
Best,
Fireman
Are you using the Glidewrapper (MRacer_GLD.exe)?
The Direct3D does not work on modern computers.
We mainly use Discord for communication, not these forums. See you there!
I think there's several versions submitted of MFP. Will you pick the first one?
Can we get any news on adding new leaderboards? Taking ages now.
Is there already a speedrunning discord? Found a few things I'd like to share.
Once you get a gun you shouldn't need to do the jump glitches anymore, just the gun upwarps, which are much easier.
That's cool, I don't know if Bulbipop sitll comes here, but you can message him on his videos and he should respond, maybe he has another idea. He knows much more about the game settings than I do.
Yeah sometimes Glidewrappers like nGlide work, I know games from that time, like Messiah, won't run without a Glidewrapper. I can't remember if Urban Chaos runs that way though.
Yeah that's true, if it doesn't start at all it might be OS-related?
I assume you've tried compatability modes. You could try the GOG version, but that worked slightly worse for me than the Steam version.
Also the draw distance changes?
Also framerate is sometimes an issue.
Yeah the PlayStation version is completely different, I am not even sure if most of the tricks would work on PlayStation.
Check the resources tab, it contains a patch and some settings that should fix crashes.
Great stuff! Thanks a lot for the quick reactions.
I'll be looking into some of the levels for more glitches!
Hey all, I started (re)routing this game, looking for glitches and such and would like to add individual levels. It seems this game is made for ILs.
Could we maybe get a leaderboard for ILs?
Yeah that makes sense, it's how I would also define best lap.
Single lap runs would make no sense since the first lap is always worse.
B.O.B. is a great game to speedrun though. Tough as nails, not sure if there are ny glitches.
But I agree with most other responses, don't just do a Let's Play and then claim WR. Route the game, get a time you're happy with and then submit it.
There are other people just like Seydie in the Obscure Speedrun Club.
Check that out if you're interested in getting more runners.
I removed the DreamCast category until we get a runner for it. Just so I don't have to select another console every single time I upload something,
And now it's dead :P GG, well played.
