why do you even care about adding cheat% anyway? you have no submitted runs. cheat% would get very few runs since it takes all the fun and challenge out of the actual speedrun
bad category. someone lock this thread. cheat% is pointless
perhaps check the rules listed before accusing someone of breaking the rules? Doesnt seem too outrageous imo
honestly, id just get a capture card. a cheap one like the avermedia LGP lite can cost about $60-$80 USD. its a worthwhile investment if you want to speedrun on PS4
also saving another framerule wont allow 4:53 to happen, we will need likely at lease 3 new ones to be saved
yeah can people please stop requesting this category. its just pointless
that should be fine since you are still using a NTSC console and game
you need 1 of the splitters plugged into the yellow cable of the gv-usb2. then the yellow N64 cable goes into one plug on the splitter and then another set of composite cables plugs into the remaining GV-USB2 plugs and the yellow one goes into the other yellow one. then in OBS, you listen to the sound that the cap card is producing so you dont need more splitters
because SMG2 242 isnt just 2 120 runs back to back like SMG1 is. its like this because the SMG1 community formally agree that the 100% category should be 120 stars but the SMG2 community agree that the 100% category should be 242 stars.
Its mainly just a quality of life thing
Nobody will run any of these categories. Just accept it and move on
Speedrunning up to a specific point in a game is more often than not incredibly pointless. Please people, stop requesting dumb categories just so you can get an easy world record. Just learn 70 star switch players or choose a different speedgame.
lets be real too. if you want to become a top runner, it means you will be spending likely hundreds of hours on this game. i think forking up $100 for hours and hours of an experience is well worth it. even if you only spend 100 hours on this game (which isnt that much if you speedrun it), that comes to $1 per hour
Also just buy from a seller that allows refunds and/or is a trusted seller. If you take a few minutes to look around, you should be able to find working equipment
my understanding is that dolphin emulates somewhat inaccurately and is all around worse to play on. I'm pretty sure its capped at the arbitrary time to encourage new runners to run on original hardware eventually and thus everyone is on equal playing grounds. there is nothing stopping you from running on emulator past the threshold but you just cant submit.
Also you hate the idea of spending money on hardware and giving money to nintendo? you dont just get games for free, you have to buy them if you want to play on actual hardware and off an actual game disc.
