Anyways after further testing it also works with a controller's jump button + space bar. This means you can get a 'triple jump' using all 3. I set this up with JoyToKey just mapping the jump button to also left click + space

The glitches add communication between players which is almost non-existent in a "glitchless" speedrun. I strongly believe that there should not be a second category for glitchless. Especially because then you have to go through what actually constitutes a glitch (e.g. there is a jump in level 3 which skips a long intended puzzle).
However, feel free to submit a time that doesn't use any of the tricks to the leaderboards, nothing is stopping you. You can certainly make a solid time without them, especially considering 4th place doesn't use them. You'd probably be able to beat the run Ben and I did that implemented the new tricks. There are some tiny things that 4th place didn't use that aren't glitches. These cut off portions of puzzles in which they took a long way around as an oversight to a much simpler solution. For example: level 3 is the trick that we did not know about which saves a chunk of time is what I would consider glitchless.
I'm also not sure where how you say glitchless is more intensive memorization of the route. I would argue you would have to know more of the level to attempt the glitches quickly. This is due to the fact you have to know what sections are coming up before they are on screen. Preparing for setting up for the jumps is just as intensive on rote memorization as the normal puzzles, if not more. Also, after a while of playing the game if you forget a puzzle it is really easy to solve them on the fly.
If people want to play glitchless they can submit to the regular category. Games do not need an infinite amount of categories to accommodate people's individual play styles especially when the point is to beat the game as fast as possible.
