If it's a game's standard feature, I see no problem doing it in a glitchless run.
Yes, timer is not required. It can be timed manually. IGT is not enough.
Timer is prefered, but not required. It can be timed manually. IGT is not enough.
Hey, melwin96, we have NFS discord channel if you wanna talk ;) The link is in NFS general forum.
We can't use IGT as the primary timer, because if you use save/load (i.e: gimp skip), the IGT will reset to the point of when you saved, thus if you fail the skip 5 times and it takes you 5 seconds each, the IGT will not count 25 seconds, which is not fair.
Theoretically, you could spend half an hour of real time doing this skip and your IGT wouldn't count any of that. That is stupid.
The only solution is to create auto-splitter and set "time without loads" as the primary timer, but nobody made that yet.
EDIT: Btw, you're using way too high bitrate for you stream. Unless you're twitch partner, a lot of people won't be able to watch you unless you have 2000kpbs max. The video will be buffering no matter how fast your connection is.
Yeah sorry, I forgot to mention that :D Although it depends on how much you want to optimize it.
Personally, I find that doing a segmented run first is the best practice, because you're basically doing one thing over and over (several) hundred times, which makes you remember it really well, and you also find small timesavers here and there that you probably wouldn't discover in a single-segment run. This approach always worked for me better than just doing full runs over and over without much testing and preparation.
They will be hidden if you leave them empty.
ILs should be timed manually without loads and cutscenes should be included, if the game doesn't have IGT or it's broken.
I'm not sure that real-time without loads is necessary. From what I've seen, the loading times are usually just a couple seconds and it's an old game anyway, so it's not like there will be any huge differences between PCs like with Fallout 4 for example.
If you look at the current times on Any% leaderboards, all of them are roughly within 5 minutes.
Just my 2 cents ;)
If that ever happens, we will sort it out. Don't worry.

Whenever anyone submits a run from this specific IL, it uses categories from full-game leaderboards and you can't actually submit (it says something about non-existing categories). It has to be submitted from a different IL, then "Level" has to be changed back to "Stage 0+1". The bug seems to be linked to the actual name of the IL, because whenever I change it, the categories are correct. I also tried to create a new IL and move all of the current runs there, but once I renamed it back to its original name, the bug appeared again.
Watch my segmented run. It's still a bit random and I honestly think it's not worth trying in SS run more than once since it only saves about 10 seconds.
I'm not sure we should call it 100% category. I think that "All errands" would be a better name.
Pacifist category? If someone submits such run, we'll create the category, but until then, no. People often talk about making a run in obscure category (mostly because they wanna speedrun the game, but don't want to compete against runs in standard categories for some reason), but unfortunately they never deliver :( Having empty categories is not fun.
