In my opinion glitchless category is similar to 100% category - it's slower than any%, but if people want to do such a run, let them have it. The only problem is to define what is and isn't a glitch.

From what I've seen, most games with a lot of glitches and large enough community have glitchless category.

Dash or bumper cam generally allows you to point the car into a corner more precisely, because you can directly see where the front-end of your car points, unlike with far/roof cam where you just see your car tilted when cornering.

Added your CW run, but that video you uploaded to zippyshare is your SU run, not AQ.

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

Like I said, he did those ILs in tournament mode, thats why he has "green numbers" and music.

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

I already changed all of his runs to emulator.

Btw, what do you mean by those green and red numbers in corners? The only thing I can see are split times (green if you're ahead, red if you're losing) since some of his ILs are done in tournament mode.

I'm not a mod of this game, but I don't see why this should not be allowed or moved to a different category. It's not a glitch and it doesn't save that much time from what I know. It's simply a strat, although a bit questionable, but speedrunning racing games will always be a bit awkward compared to other genres due to having sometimes a really weird tricks/strats.

I have no idea why you can't upload it yourself to archive.org if you've already done it to 1fichier and share-online. I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna upload runs for you anymore. This community recently grew to such extent that it takes me quite a lot of my free time to verify/mod/update rules/categories.

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

Can't you just upload it yourself to archive.org? It's pretty simple...

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

I think I'll have to play it myself. Maybe on easter holidays.

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

Nope, you never uploaded AQ. I'll try to setup NFS4 PS leaderboards from the information you gave in the first post.

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

I added your runs, but can you please check all of them? I don't remember in which mode they were made etc. Thx

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

Yeah, rules are not set up yet. I have not played it at all, but I've seen it.

Grim is working on Shift.

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

It was opened just in case someone decided to submit a run done on PS version, which is different than PC (same as NFS3 or 5).

I never uploaded your run anywhere and I never betrayed you. If you think I did, then I apologize, but that was NOT my intention. I only asked you if what you said "emulators are faster" is backed up by some evidence or if it's just a made up opinion, because I hate when people do that, and I was actually really curious if it's true or not.

Alien: Isolation - well, if it really can't be changed within the game itself (via console or options menu), then that's another game on speedrun.com that traded legitimacy for speed :( There's more games on speedrun.com with "shady" rules like this.

I'm not sure what's the point of posting the download links to forum, but not on the leaderboards, but if that's what you wanna do, then do it. Btw, I don't use ICQ anymore, but you can contact me on steam or discord.

Lol yeah, I found your run.

"This is currently possible, a update is not necessary. I was super-mod for my self it is possible to create separate leaderboards."

Never heard about that, never seen that on other leaderboards, and never seen an option like that in the games I mod. How?

I don't know the exact details of Alien: Isolation runs, but from what I know, they crouch clip using very high fps and v-sync, so it's PC only trick.

"I try to say all Leaderboards here represent one site and each and one of them has there own rules and some has no rules. This is a bit anarchy every mod for him self with own rules."

Yes, that's basically the main difference between SDA and speedrun.com. It's community/mod-managed, not admin-managed. It would be impossible for site admins to manage all leaderboards, although I personally think there should be at least some general rules for all games, because some games have a really stupid rules (modifying game files, using unofficial version, using mods etc.)

There are unfortunately many runs that suck and the runner literally tells his audience he hates the game when something doesn't go his way. Just don't watch that run or simply improve it :)

Czech RepublicEwil8 years ago

SDA is pretty much dead, even if you don't believe it. It saddens me, but unfortunately that site got stuck in 2005 and never really improved much. Speedrunners, on the other hand, did move on and created speedrun.com, which is far better in many cases. Unfortunately for you, most supermods don't allow segmented category, but I've heard there might be an update of speedrun.com, which will allow mods to create multiple leaderboards (not just level and full-game), so there is still hope.

"Even you Ewil you allow segmented runs, but on the same site speedrun.com there are other leaderboards that are inflicted and represents your board with banned segmented runs. so or so this can not work good in the future."

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying I ban segmented runs in some game I mod? Like I said, even if segmented category doesn't exist, just submit your run and I'll create it. It's not created by default because not many people do these runs.

You can submit unoptimized run, if you want.
