Leaderboard for other runs that aren't listed on the main board can be most likely found here: https://www.speedrun.com/mp2ce

Use this thread if you'd like to see more categories added to this leaderboard page. If submitting, please follow these rules.

Rules for Submission

  • For new categories, please provide a video of the run already done. We want to avoid empty categories if possible.
  • Do not request categories just for the sake of adding them.
  • If submitting a full game run that uses IGT, make sure it is Single Segment. No Segmented runs will be allowed.
  • If submitting a run that uses RTA (i.e. Darkburst RTA), timing starts on File Select with a timer delay of 14.8.

Note: Mods may discuss new categories that are suggested to be added. Categories may be rejected if the mods feel they do not fit.

Note: We are avoiding Hard Mode categories on this board, as some of them use RTA and changes nothing. If you do want a Hard Mode category, feel free to suggest it and the mods will talk about it, provided you follow the guidelines above.

I used the GameCube controller because it felt the most natural to me.

I don't like how the Classic Controller (Pro in particular) has C-Down on the back shoulder buttons and I dislike the fact that the stick is on the bottom.

I haven't tried using an N64 controller (for speedrunning) so I wouldn't know. I do believe, however, the adapter has no effect on ESS/Deadzone.

The resolution of the game is all dependent on your wii settings. The game is meant to be played in 4:3, so make sure your Wii and TV is set to that aspect ratio (the aspect ratio does not affect the speeds in anyway, so you can play on whichever resolution you like but... 4:3 is better.)

The reason why Cannon Ball works is as follows:

After getting Screw Attack, you go out of bounds and Wallcrawl to Worker's Path. You activate the cannon, then head back up and transition the room back to Sanctuary Temple. Since the room is on the wrong map, you can unload Worker's Path by touching a load trigger. So when you use the cannon in this state, it will fire, and the room will unload around you. Since it unloaded, you can unmorph out of the cannon state and keep all of the properties of the cannon, which means you do 500,000 damage per frame (the important part) and you are immune to everything as Morph Ball.

Chykka Adult (only the light form) regenerates health 1 frame after you damage it, and Cannon Ball does enough (way more than enough) to kill it. Cannon Ball does 500,000 damage per frame, so if Chykka had 500,001 health, it would not work. Additionally, as far as I'm aware, Chykka Adult (light) is the only boss that is not immune to Cannon Ball.

Do you mean playing the original Wii disc on a Wii U? If so, yes, that is completely fine.

If you mean running the Wii U E-Shop version, there is a separate leaderboard for that here: http://www.speedrun.com/mpt

The spinners do not activate on the PAL version. You have to fight Berserker Lord on PAL. However the skips to still get up there are faster, you just have to fight him.
