just for convenience could you allow this video to play on external sites? not necessary, only a request :P
For co-op runs, we need both perspectives to confirm a run is Glitchless. Your run has been set to Any%.
(this is a semi-repost to catch the attention of people who ignored the other thread)
Timer Glitch has put us at a mild impasse. We're running a poll on what to do about it in the discord. The final result may involve a major revamp of how runs are timed, so if you haven't already, join, go to #announcements, and vote. Make your voice heard.
has been added as a specific subcategory to Shadow Raid - it'll only be visible on that level
yeah, you didn't get disguised in time for the bugged ending to kick in, so it's marked as heist failed and an invalid run - i assume the glitch is what allowed you to get the xp? not sure on that one.
@Norfolk the old timer glitch is impossible to achieve and had maybe 5 runs? i'm content letting that one disappear. we're running a poll on discord right now that's getting community consensus for the next few days and (unless that decision is split decently evenly) will follow the results. speedrun mods are curators, not dictators
sure, but then you can't run glitchless at all. the main appeal of glitchless is that you are Choosing to not use ingame glitches as a sort of challenge - timer glitch isn't something a player can avoid.
for what it's worth, a major consideration is shifting the board to use RTA time which i've had reservations about but seems like it's the main remaining option if we don't want to trust the game timer
@Ironlongswords currently the issue isn't that they're not valid runs, it's that if this glitch is patched in a few weeks then all the work people will have put in will be mostly irrelevant. hence me asking if people are Okay with that or if we should do a proper solution like retiming things
so it has! i'll do those now, thanks for the heads up
as for the original idea of the discord - yeah, agree, working on it, will probably be done by tomorrow
update: it's tomorrow in my timezone. https://discord.gg/ByE9AnFJPm
Hi! As many of you probably know, Timer Glitch is a continual problem that's stopping any new runs being verified. Rough proposal I've made to other mods (and would now like to pitch here) is that we make a temporary Version category that houses all timer-glitched runs that will eventually be moved to "Old Versions" once the glitch is fixed. This lets us still work through the 80 or so runs and have a semblance of a leaderboard without completely screwing up the standard leaderboard times. If the glitch is never patched, they can be moved to Current Version once that part is made clear, but for now this is the best compromise I can think of.
Put your thoughts in here and we'll figure something out in around 24 hours' time.
@eces in theory yes, but practically since the glitch is modern-day impossible they'd be shunted to old versions anyway, so it's easier to just reject them given there wasn't really much time for history to build up
if only the replies were as observant as you
we did a whole newspost about this lmao we're going through 'em and finding out
