United StatesHey, old fart here. I think we calced it being like 1 frame faster per load time (something like that, ask Tyler). I feel there is a little more time save in some other areas, but in specifcally load times that is what was agreed upon (back in the day at least).
Whether it is worth it or not is just dependent on how optimized you want said run to be. I got one used for $89 and I got its mileage out in testing stuff and the few runs I did at the end of my time.

We will have a community vote in the Wii Series Speedrunning discord to decide if Classic 9 hole runs in Golf and Frisbee Golf will now require you to choose 9 hole. Eitherway, all older runs will be grandfathered in.

To keep this short, Vncz removed his own runs. We as a mod team didn't invalidate them. This is due to as Zen said, complications with using wii flow to run a jp disc. It is some considerable time save, but even so, our estimates right now range into only 4 seconds overall. We are taking are time on this, and both parties know what is going on. I fully expect the correct actions will be taken in due time. It is at no parties fault, we are trying to decide how to work through this in the future. Cheers
Just because you didn't read the rules the first time and are upset you got your illegitimate world record rejected doesn't mean you should complain in the fourms. Just like Zennan said, timing is done universally across the board. The goal is to keep things uniform. We don't change things on the fly, we have meetings and discuss and vote with weeks of discussion.
Speedrun.com has this cool feature where you can click a button and it tells you the rules of the category. It states "Timing beings when either selecting said level, or finishing the previous level. Time ends when you do the last hit on the last opponent, "100%" the level."
You should always, ALWAYS read the rules before submitting any run. Not reading the first time is a mistake, the second time is a choice. Swordplay Showdown IL timing has been set since 2018, and it works wonders.
With Wii Sports Resort being a console game, having a timer than stops for loads isn't something we currently have as a community. The difference is very minimal. If we were talking Super Mario Bros. or NSMBW level of optimization, then loads could be a talking point. But this is just adding a barrier for people to submit (because what we would have to do is have people time out the loads themselves and then the mods would have to double check that they were right.
Beat the Champion - Table Tennis: Match - (11 Point) Reason for Rejection - Few runners (3), seemed more of like a challenge run rather than a speedrun. Always faster to do 6-point.

That doesn't mean they are gone forever, but for now we won't add them. Everyone's runs from the categories will be tracked here. Good afternoon ya'll. This is the last leaderboard update for 2020! We are almost done with the year, and in hindsight, maybe we should think towards 2021... Anyway, smaller update this go around.
Pending Categories - After looking at the runs, we have decided that "Lose All Sports" will be moved to the All Sports Challenges category. The other categories right now we are not interested in adding at this time, so there will be a fourm post on the Category Extension boards where we will document categories that have been suggested, but for now are not adding. This post doesn't mean we won't add them later, but at this time the answer is no.
Cycling Co-op Rules have been updated to where Co-op now allows you to do 1 player 2 controllers. This should bring some great compeition to the category. Submissions will work like the CE Golf and Frisbee Golf multiple player categories, where you can submit via one person or two people.
The new pending categories for the end of the year inolves golf and give up. Special Course Give Up will be a thing, where runners will give up the special course as possible. Or if it is better with the community, doing All Courses Give Up, will be the other. Just whichever has more support by the end of the year we will keep.
We also will be cleaning up the CE board a little bit, combine some categories to make things a little easier.

Adding the "Pending Categories" category to the category extension boards. This allows people to know exactly what categories we are thinking on adding. Taking this just like how Super Mario Odyssey handles it.
Change the name of Blind to Expert Mode for Golf FG (This is what the game literally calls it)
Move all Blindfolded Speedruns to their own category. (with sub categories for each run)
Moving Blindfolded All Categories to pending categories. It has been well over a year, and Simrax still is the only person.

Here is some tips to make everyone's lives better.
Read the rules, if you win a game, submit it only to win. If you don't win, it goes in finish.
Unless the run has In-Game Time in it (such as Slotcars) DO NOT submit In-Game with your run. Stuff like All Sports, Golf, and others do not have In game time, so there is no need to submit In Game Time with your run besides to make my life more difficult. Wipeout is already in charge of that.
Similarly, do not submit milliseconds unless the In Game timer has them (such as Slot cars). Any exceptions to this are discussed with mods and community ahead of time, and retimed by leaderboard mods.
