but as far as i can tell the guide never elaborates on this, and it dosnt have any explanation behind why.

Has it been determined which game plays faster? If i was going with my gut id assume ruby since mudkip has type advantage against team magma

However, Wartabs 3rd place (Sapphire) is only 3ish minutes behind eddakets world (Ruby), and eddaket did have better movement and encounter RNG.

Also not as important, but dose console matter? I heard the new3DS has better processing but i dont know if it affects how fast the game plays

As far as i know, RNG manipulation on the overworld has not been discovered, but if you just want a statistical advantage, you should use the D-pad. this allows you to run through grass at perfect 45 degree intervals. As far as routing your movements, its a case by case, but usually you want to move through the grass at a 90 degree angle since every patch of grass is a possible encounter and you hit twice as many if you move diagonal.

you also have to weigh risk vs reward with your route. For example the WR run has the player going on the beach on route 104 to avoid grass. this takes about 6 seconds, but has no risk of encounter, were as if you go through the grass it saves 5 seconds, but risks an encounter or two which cost 16 seconds each

I dont have a capture card, and i assume emulators are banned (Tho i dont even know if there is a 3ds emulator), so i have to resort to camera footage. However due to the quality of my camera, i can only capture 1 screen, the other being glared. Is it enough to capture only the top screen as proof?

Wartab covered pretty much everything as far as character selection, but i would like to chip in by saying you should name her ! Because 1 character is fastests, and ! is the fastest character. However you should not name your mudkip because the time gained by naming it ! is not enough to make up for the time loss to go into the naming menu, unless a new route is made that allows you to beat the game with just your starter (and hm slaves)
