You may also want to add console options: PS1, PS2, & PS3. As well regional options.

Ok so I did some research. The first thing I noticed is every time you beat the game the objectives change. Which is to say, there's New Game, 2nd pass, 3rd pass, I didn't test past this point cause the 2nd pass on Polpo's was quite hard and the Level 1 object was a complete turn off.

I think the objectives for each pass are consistent so it's not some kind of primitive roguelike, but I'm not interested in doing runs beyond the first pass so I vote to leave that for someone else to figure out if that day ever arises.

I think reasonable categories would simply be Polpo and Putica which would simply be the current Any% category, and then a second one for Putica.

Additionally, I think for all future run, the video should require to begin at the new game selection, although we can keep the timing the same as current. It should also state in the rules when timing starts & finishes.

Also, I would request adding a link to the following post for standardized PS1 emulation usage that all future runs should adhere to: https://www.speedrun.com/crash/thread/kfh5l

Thanks <3

Actually, is the difficulty the same progressive ramping for both characters? Either way, I would appreciate having how each playthrough affects the requirements explained :D. It is now evident to me that I need to start from a blank save every time for Any%

Instead of Any% and 100%, perhaps Polpo and Putica can be the two differentiating categories. As 100% doesn't really make sense in context of this game to be an objective.

That is tracked on a spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y5SN4rHPr4w16SScHoYo7nN63LMZA_f-bQ6RZv0JdI8/edit#gid=1710566250

SRC is not really well equipped to handle the this type of leaderboard, but the IL community for Rayman Legends is very active to this day.

Not that I'm aware of, though I've only played one version of the game.

If you're playing on console, a PS2 will get you better loads by enabling the Fast Disc Speed option in the settings. Then newer PS2 models also have better performance, so 79k or 90k are the preferred model #s for speedrunning PS1 games. That said, I don't think this game will see as dramatic of an improvement compared to more resource intensive games.

You can't do that in a game's settings. That has to be requested on this forum: https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/5twus I had never taken the time to read if there were requirements are anything.

Requesting moderator for Devil Dice.

I don't remember the history of this leaderboard, but apparently there was another moderator which is listed as [Deleted User]. As is, it has no moderator so I would like to take responsibility for this game.

Oh wait, I'm apparently no longer moderator for this game? I will have to request that. idk how that happened.

It's been a while since I've played Devil Dice, so I would say you should use your best judgement to make categories that are distinct & clearly defined.

I would need you to define what the category would be to add it. Alternatively, I could just add you as a mode if you would like to make it yourself?

I just now noticed this post, but if there are suggestions for categories I would be open to adding them.

If you want to split the leaderboards, I would be fine with that. Loadless might also be possible.

Kentucky, USACaneofPacci4 years ago

So I did a load comparison since I'm on console and Wesen saved 2:11 in pure loads which is insanely inaccurate. This is a very bad emulation policy imo.

Also to note, I'm on a 90k PS2 where the standard for accuracy of a PS1 emulator should be a PS1.

That sounds acceptable to me. Though I would imagine that it's slower.

You're welcome to do this as a challenge, but I'm not going to take the time to verify that for a leaderboard purpose.

Kentucky, USACaneofPacci5 years ago

Some emulators are incredibly inaccurate, so it depends on which emulator you're using. I would say stick to which emulators are listed as acceptable in this thread for accuracy.

If you can still complete the story mode under these conditions I would assume it's fine? I haven't played the story mode though so let me know if that makes sense.
