We're going to build a new UI for the "New thread" form, stay tuned!
It's not too bad, just if you're a mod of a big game (hundreds or thousands of active users), then it becomes problematic to view runs, as you need to preview it to see if it's actually a run, or bait/wrong submission/incorrect submission/etc.
What would like to see in a preview that isn't currently there?
For context, here's a list of runs, and an image of an expanded run (modal dialog) in "review mode":
@Camcorder I think that would work if it's only for the game/community in question. If I ban someone from the "Mobility" community, they should still be able to submit runs to any other game, and their stream should show up unless they're running Mobility.
Yeah that's exactly it - we already have site-wide bans, this would be community specific. There's a few issues to work through, but we'll add this to the list!
Thanks for all of the great detail in this thread.
Here's a partial list of recent changes:
- Fix various permission issues (ban issues, sticky threads, mods editing comments, verifiers, autoverify, super mods demoting others, etc)
- Fix server error when editing some categories (ex. "Any%")
- Fix wrong date showing up in modhub run list
- Fix youtube social links
- Fix unintentional overriding of run submitter when verify
- Improve performance and reliability (ongoing)
- Increase max text length of guides and news posts
- Increase max following users to 200 (from 100)
- Improve forms in various ways
- Remove verification (pending, rejected) filter from leaderboards
- Restore Bilibili as social network
- Restore thread deletion functionality
- Show last online on user profile
We'll be making lots of tweaks over the next few days. I appreciate your patience and understanding!
How much is that in symbols?
Depends on your symbols, my dude! :)
Thanks all for the feedback, we're working hard to address everything.
@SRGTsilent, sorry for the frustration. We're deploying a patch momentarily that allows for up to 20KB of text content in guides. Furthermore, I agree with your frustrations with the text editor - you may want to consider using markdown mode (click the <> icon in upper-right of editor). We'll look into bringing the TOC back.
Thanks for the report, it was an oversight - we'll fix it!
Thanks for the report, and sorry for the trouble. Verifiers should now be able to edit runs.
You can now again filter followed game notifications by FG / IL separately. The IL settings are off by default.
Make fun of SRC all you want (we got a laugh out of the diss track), but it's NEVER ok to make threats against ANYONE. Banned for a month; don't give me a reason to make it permanent. I recommend you take that time to read the Terms of Use and consider how your behavior online might negatively affect others in real life.
I think that I understand your original suggestion - there used to be a "rootlocation" setting for users. The influence of that setting was pretty complicated (and inconsistent) under the hood, having different effects on various parts of the site, and being more-or-less effective in various parts of the site based on the location chosen (not all locations were treated equally!)
We like the idea of offering customization options, but want it to be done in a fair and consistent manner. We fixed the issue with nested countries today (sorry for that bug!), but probably won't iterate further until next year.
@YUMmy_Bacon5 no immediate plans for that, sorry.
We plan to to rework the location system in the future, but don't have an ETA. The current system is difficult (impossible?) to maintain to a reasonable standard due to it's breadth, depth, and overly-opinionated nested structure. We'd like it to be simpler, less divisive, more accommodating of different perspectives, and to better support other features on the site (ex. filtering leaderboards by region).
Sorry for the bug here, this should be fixed now.
We just deployed some improvements (still rolling out to all users):
- Algorithm further improved to better respect user preferences, remove duplicate runs, and a variety of other tweaks
- Fix username in title on run page
@VyPr, that’s a tough one. Making the images larger would consume more vertical space (reducing the number of runs visible at once and causing increased scrolling). Mind if I ask what phone you’re using?
