This is the first time I have held the world record in this category. The run was good, however it is definitely improvable. 2:43:xx is an ideal run. Here's how the run went:

Chapter 1: Can be 1 minute faster up to Hooktail. The Great Tree: Two encounters. Pre-Chapter 3: 2nd try Boo's Sheet, UHE and TRE went greatly. Chapter 3: Good luck overall but missed out on over a minute due to conditions. Chapter 8: Got into 3 encounters - two being Bombshell Bills. 3rd try item drop and 1st try Yoshi teleport for palace skip, with a somewhat slow setup for the teleport.

Also there were a few 5-10 second time losses throughout the run. I'll improve this time eventually for sure, sub 2:45:00 is the goal
