All possible Save and Quit Strategies for Easy NG+

To start this off, Saving and Quitting is a way to quickly warp to one end of a level that can be useful. Although you don't actually save, its just called that. it's a very easy trick that is now a lot more useful due to the new fix that stops the game crashing on quits as long as the PC is not under load. any S+Q's may or may not break the sponsor challenge cycle. the first dino S+Q however will have Beverly hills sponsor challenges remain the same but all else will change.
These S+Q strats will be placed in order of the game

After Dino Head, S+Q immediately to get to bus. do 3rd hollywood graf mission on the way to buy dino head in skate ranch split.

After Boone, on the way to skate ranch. wait for game to lag in the tunnel (about halfway) then S+Q. (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE COMPLETED 6 SPONSOR CHALLENGES otherwise the sponsor challenges in Hollywood will be different)

After Mr. D Mission (the one that unlocks downtown) S+Q to hollywood bus and take it to downtown

Do Bike missions after amjam, keep the bike, skate in tunnel to downtown and S+Q after lag spike, you will warp to downtown. (this will save time not only route wise, but also the 3s it takes to get off bike)

Once again in the Beverly Hills to Skate ranch tunnel, exact same as the first one

After the flatland comp, go through the elevator and S+Q when you do so

After Alva manual mission, S+Q (you have to wait about a second after mission completion otherwise the alien suit wont be available in hollywood)

when Oil Rig logo pops up while on boat, S+Q. make sure you hop in the water in between land and the buoy line otherwise you will respawn back up top

when santa monica POI's appear on compass in tunnel on the way to santa monica from oil rig in tunnel

after talk with cholos after Downtown graffiti S+Q to bus

after black widowz tattoo, S+Q to bus

after cholo bike mission, S+Q to bus to east la

after delivering the money to Joey B, S+Q to hollywood bus 

after Daewon pro mission (only worth if combo is done on the ledge daewon tells you to do it on)

after Paul Rodriguez pro mission

Alternate Easy Story mode route (With Mindy Skip)

So, in THAW there is a glitch early on in the game that allows you to go to Beverly Hills early. This glitch is performed by doing some flip tricks in the corner of the gate blocking the way to Beverly Hills. The main downside to this, though is that you can't warp to Beverly Hills using the bus or Iggy's truck. However, we don't very often warp to Beverly Hills as much as some people think. As for the times we need a warp to BH (such as to return to the ranch), there will be some route modifications using the ranch piece warp to go back to the ranch. This skip would be very optimal in easy. It maybe optimal on Normal. However, Sick mode can't optimize this skip well, due to the requirements of getting all the skate ranch pieces in certain areas, which leaves limited opportunities to warp back to the ranch when needed. This guide will be done on the easy mode


So the route would go like this :

- Do Hollywood as normal until you get the manual.
- Then take one of 2 paths. Either go straight to the gate or go to Muton and do his tag missions first.
- Head to the corner of the fence and do Mindy skip.
- Do BH as normal
- Do Sanchez as normal
- Do Bert Slide as normal
- Get Dino head and warp to Ranch
Here comes our first slight modification, since we can't use the truck to go to BH, we are going to have to skate in the loading tunnel, then quit and re open the game.
- Depending on which route you took on your way to Mindy skip may differ your route after unlocking Downtown. If you cleared Muton, just head to Downtown like you normally would in a run. If you had ignore Muton in Hollywood 1, do all 3 of his missions now.
- Do DT as normal
- Do Vans as normal
Upon exiting Vans is our first major run modification, since we can't warp back to BH to get to the ranch, we will need to utilize a Skate Ranch part mission to warp back to the ranch. Ideally either the bell or the piece of road will do fine.
- Do BH 2 as normal
- Do SM as normal
- Do Oil Rig as normal
Instead of using the bus to go back to BH, just go thru the parking garage and use quit game when necessary en route to the ranch.
- Do DT2 as normal
- Do East LA as normal
- Save Mega as usual
Just skate thru to BH and quit and reload

-- At this point in the run, there are no more route modifications, so there really is no point in discussing this further.

Overall, this skip could save about 20 seconds to a minute in the run overall, and I think it is worth trying out.

UPDATE: This skip overall seems to save about 7-10 seconds overall, not really worth it unless you really want to get WR. As Mindy Skip is hard to get consistently.

How to setup a NG/NG+ save for Speedrunning

1) Start a new game
2) Do the Clothing mission. IF you don't want to customize clothing, go bald and shirtless, then save when prompted after going shirtless
2.5) If you want to customize clothing, be aware on how much you are spending. make sure to make back the EXACT amount that you spent from bum goals otherwise your run will be invalid. Proceed to save anywhere after doing some bum goals, just don't start Ian's mission

CONTINUE IF YOU WANT A NG+ SAVE

3) Play through the game until you complete the flatland contest, which will unlock Santa Monica. As you play through, make sure to complete at least 3 graffiti missions for Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Downtown.
4) Once you reach Santa Monica, complete 3 graffiti missions
5) Go to the graffiti guy (Muton) after completing 3 missions and create a graffiti. Make sure to have at least one unique style from each city that you unlocked. 
6) Save the Graffiti when done.
7) Exit the game, DO NOT SAVE
8) Load up the original save you made at the start
9) Go to Muton at Hollywood. Load the Graffiti that you saved earlier in Santa Monica
10) Save the GAME

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (THAW) Speedrun route for the Any% Category

    Basic information:
     
    Any% means that you have to beat the game by any means possible, allowing any kind of in-game glitch, the only restriction are cheats. the timing for THAW starts when the story difficulty is selected and it ends when the CS after you brang the DV back to the Ranch is triggered.
     
    The Any% Run in THAW is done on easy difficulty, simply because you have to do less missions to complete the game, The money you need to advance is grinded on the way with the Tags
     
    The fastest way to move depends on the situation. I think on flat ground and upward slopes it is best to do a combo run out somehow to make the timer appear (Caveman- Combo-run-out f.e.). On downward slopes grinding seems to be the fastest way.
     
    sadly it's slower,but i'm gonna mention it anyway:
    The Hollywood Skip is a glitch which allows you to leave Hollywood early without doing the Dino Head Mision beforehand. it is done dy doing and flip trick while sliding through the cage at the exit of Hollywood that leads to Beverly Hills. you can also call it Beverly Hills early i guess. But you can not actually skip the Dino Head mission since you wouldn't be able to use the bus to Beverly Hills and you'll probably be stuck at some point in the game, i never tested it out though.
     
    Muton is the guy that tags with you. So everytime i type something like "Muton in ... 1x", it means go to the tagger and do 1 tag. Even if you have an graphic saved that contains all 4 styles, the game won't let you trigger the Spat mission, unless you learn the styles, so that's why you have to tag 3 times in Hollywood, Beverly Hills,Downtown and Santa Monica. But you can load a graphic that contains all 4 styles before you learned all the styles in the run, so you do it right before you do the last tag in Downtown.
     
    You will often read something like "do the "insert Ranch piece here"- Mission". that's because there are several points in the game where you have to go to the Skate Ranch to trigger Story Missions, and i think it's faster to get back to the Ranch with doing the mission, since you go directly to the Ranch. You can also just go to Beverly Hills via bus and then go through the "tunnel" but i think that 's slower.However, some of the Ranch piece missions are only being done because they trigger story missions,f.e. the Tony Alva Mission requires you to do 2 extra Ranch piece mission to trigger Alva standing where he stands, so doing the shark head and the theatre roof mission is not to get back to the Ranch faster.
     
    Using the same character will always give you the same sponsor challenges, but i would recommend you to take an start character that wears a hat, since it's faster to just remove the hat cause that counts as an hairstyle change.
     
    The spawn points from Muton are fixed, that means, he always spawns at the same spots in the same order in the different parts of the city, so you can plan your route. However, the spawn points of Rick Thorne (the BMX teacher) are not fixed, so you have to adjust to it at the point in the run where you have to do the 3 BMX Missions in Downtown.
     
    On timed missions where you have to get more points than the opponent, don't score until near the timer is runned out (start scoring with 15-10 seconds left on the timer), since your opponent will not get many points if you don't score at all, but make sure never to be in a combo when the timer reaches 0, cause the mission won't stop if the timer runs out and you are in a combo.
