In the IL rules, it states "EverDrive-64 is allowed." and "2D analog inputs must be mapped to another 2D analog input (e.g. cannot map an angle on an analog stick to the L button on a GCC)". I was wondering, 1. As far as I'm aware the everdrive is an emulator and removes lag and, 2. Why is mapping for framewalk allowed on the full game leaderboards, but not on IL leaderboards. (I also don't want to start anything, but remapping on console shouldn't be allowed on any leaderboards)

  1. Everdrive is allowed for IL's with specific restrictions. When you play within those restrictions there's no lag reduction compare to playing on an original cart.
  2. There's an ongoing vote as to whether digital to analog mapping should be allowed for full game RTA runs at the moment. The reason the same discussion isn't happening for ILs is because that sort of mapping which have the potential to have a much bigger impact, since those records are grinded for frames, instead of seconds or minutes for full game RTAs. If it's borderline as to whether it's acceptable for full game RTAs, it's pretty much never going to be acceptable for ILs.
