Hi guys. tell me, I just want to buy myself an n64 in order to start training in speedrun. when I buy a console, what do I need to buy for it first? as I understand it, I don't have to buy a katridge to start, but you can buy an Everdrive (super 64, for example, as I read in the guide). Install a practice mod game on it and start training. Do I have to buy expansion pak right away to increase RAM? what it will affect. and I've also seen a lot of posts on the Internet about which TV to choose. Does it make a big difference? can I connect the console to my regular modern TV? there are slots for the cable in it. I'm sorry if any of my questions are going to be very stupid. Im played mario 64 for a couple years, and i dont think im the best person to help, but heres what i know: 1st, if you have the console, the game, and the wires to power it and connect it to the tv, you do not need to buy anything else. you do not need the expansion pass to play, because the more ram doesn't affect it in any way. also, as long as your tv can take the cables and doesnt have input delay, there is nothing wrong with it. (hope this helped! i can be confusing sometimes so i hope i made sense.)

You will need an expansion pak to use Usamune practice ROM. @Remytherat999 please don't give advice if you don't know what you are talking about.

You will likely have a lot of input delay when using a modern TV. Would recommend joining the discord and asking these questions to receive better advice than you will on this forum.
