Could the SEGA Classics for Amazon Fire TV stick be considered as a legal way to play this game

There's spindash, so I don't think so, not on this leaderboard. Unless it's like the Switch version where you can turn spindash&dropdash off and otherwise it is emulated the same? But I can't find enough video footage of it.
Checked here and apparently Amazon Fire TV uses the Christian Whitehead remasters for Sonic 1, 2 and CD.

The result is not close and is why this vote needed to happen.
The default timing method for Sonic 1 1991 moving forward is RTA-TB. IGT is still relevant as a secondary timing method.
