A Summary of How to Move Fast

So, I've found that constantly punching on the ground increases your speed. This of course isn't applicable everywhere, being that on some levels you have to wait at some point anyways, no matter how fast you go. That being said, most levels do have a point where it suddenly becomes free reign on movement tech.

There is a potential speed boost you can sometimes get. I have no idea what causes it, but I think it has to do with hitting enemies on a slope. I've gotten it in a run before, and it essential sends you flying though the air at almost the speed as a Dashing Attack. (Note: definitely a thing. It actually helped make a cycle, when I had already messed up on the level.)

Due to the lag at the end of the Dashing Attack, it isn't really usable in many places. It is however usable at the end of each level. You go slightly further if you jump before using the dash. The timing might take some time to get used to, but just keep going for it in runs, and you'll start getting it more consistently. I basically recommend using a forward dash, when you don't have to deal with the lag. Lag can be cancelled by:
1. A disappearing platform.
2. Landing on the corner of any platform.
3: Getting hit.
4. Bouncing on enemies. (Note the is very useful on "City Wide Blimp Ride". My best time on that stage is a 19 via these strats.)

Map Movement.

Potential time save: It's known that holding towards the level you are going to will spawn your character icon directly on the next level, but I have had trouble with entering; because, as best as I can tell, the game won't register a button input while a direction is being input. Which brings me to my thesis. If you hold towards the level you want and release that input around the time you collect the third medal, and then spam the button to enter the next level, your character icon won't even appear and you will auto enter the next level. It's really hard and only saves a second, AND sometimes when you mess it up, you re-enter the level you just did. So whatever.

Final Fight Cutscene SKIP! & Spring Abuses

So all of the springs in Runbow, (minus some exceptions which I will get into) have the same rules. And they are:
1: You CAN double jump during the time you spend in the air to preserve your horizontal momentum.
2: You CAN use your Upwards attack but it DOES NOT allow preservation of horizontal movement.
3. You CAN use your Dashing Attack, while in the air phase but is basically pointless in most cases. (Except Satura Cutscene Delay).
4. Upon landing, enhanced horizontal movement can be maintained if you jump again within frames of landing. I don't know exactly what the window for this is but someone has to be able to figure it out.

Application to Speedrun: Obviously, increased horizontal movement is nice, but there are only two levels in the Any% run that can use this trick. (I Bowlieve in You, and I Lava You). The 100% completion takes much better advantage of this.

Exceptions to the Rules: 

Vertical Springs: These offer no horizontal movement boosts, so everything I mentioned does not apply.

Boss Springs: Springs leading into boss fights have special rules. Everything applies except no double jumps. Unfortunately, there is only one boss fight with preloaded platforms for us to try and land on; which leads me to...

Satura Cutscene Skip: The only boss Spring with preloaded platforms is the final fight. By timing our horizontal attack, we are able to land in front of the cutscene trigger. Well, not really, the cutscene still plays, but you can hit Satura during it. The correct timing is right before you hit the ground. If you do it correctly, you will become stuck in an invisible wall. Tap towards Satura a few times to get through, and the cutscene will play. But now you have free mobility! Now get to Satura as fast as possible!

Resetting on PC

1. Disable Steam cloud for Runbow.
2. Create a new folder called "Runbow Files." Inside that folder, create two new folders, "Main" and "Runs."
3. Navigate to AppData\LocalLow\13AM Games
4. Cut the RUNBOW folder to the "Main" folder
5. Start Runbow -- it should load with default settings
   5.5 - Set your settings if needed
6. Close Runbow and copy the newly created RUNBOW folder to the "Runs" folder
 
You are now able to do a run. To reset, delete the contents in the 13AM Games folder and copy the RUNBOW folder from "Runs" into it.
If you have no custom settings, all you need to do is delete the contents in the 13AM Games folder every time you reset.

At the time of writing, this is the best way to reset on PC. It also lets you play as other unlockable characters in adventure mode.

Short Skips Part 1

Charge it to my Card: Towards the end of the level, instead of forward dashing through the bricks, two well timed ground punches will avoid lag. Saves almost 2 seconds.

Waiting for a Change: By using ground punches, and forward dashes when appropriate, you can get a 30 second time. Since it's the first level, I usually reset if I don't get it. Saves 7 seconds.

Satura' Forest Falls: Never stop moving, and you can just barely make an earlier jump on the last platform before the fight. A good way to tell if you got it is, that if the last two enemies you see before the fight, have not crossed paths yet.

Short Skips Part 2

Constant Cave Ins: There are actually 2 strats, that save different amounts of time. The fastest requires two very precise jumps. The first being a double jump forward dashin order to land in the black ceiling section early, and then you skip one more cycle by jumping in between the green and pink ceilings. Saves 7 seconds.
If that's too hard for you, there is an easier strat. You play the level regularly, until the black ceiling. At which point, you don't stop, and just run to the end. (You should end up safe under the green ceiling.) Saves 5 seconds.

Gotta Go Fast: If you get every speed boost on this level, it's possible to die, and in most cases you go too fast to land directly on the trophy. Both can be avoided by jumping right after you leave the final ledge. Saves less than a second.

Pain Train: I found a really consistent way to beat this one fast. As long as you time your jumps, you can get to the first colored platform without using your upwards attack (to avoid lag). This allows you to do a phantom jump (jumping right as a platform disappears) on the green platform at the start. Play normally until you land on the next yellow platform, and once you do, immediately start holding right, and doing double jump up attacks, getting as much distance as you can. I promise that platforms will appear underneath you. Do not turn back. Can't be sure how much time this saves.

The Ins and Outs of LUL Skip

LUL Skip grants the player the ability to move while Satura laughs at the beginning of every boss fight. This can be done by dodging the triggers for each cutscene. This trick has two known time-saving uses, during the Satura fight in the Luau, and the final fight.

Basic Setup: Near the end of each Satura fight, there is a special kind of spring called a Boss Spring. These springs normally lock your movement, but you ca air dash, dash, or ground pound out of this lock. There is a platform at each trigger zone for the Satura cutscene, so if you ground pound on this platform you still have some space to move before you trigger the cutscene.

Luau Satura: From the platform described above, there is a divot in the ground. You want to get as close to the low-point of this divot as possible without going up the slant. Then, you need to air dash while holding right, and if done correctly you will bonk your head on the ceiling above and have complete control over your character. All you need to do now is punch Satura in her stupid face.

Final Satura: From the platform described above, there is a small hill. The trigger for the cutscene is at the peak of this hill, however it is not yet know for sure how to avoid this trigger. There is proof of this trigger being avoided, so it IS possible.
