Help with controller remapping

Hello. I use a XBOX 360 controller and I'm trying to remap it for the speedrun.

From what I've seen, when runners move their left analog, the character runs without pressing any running button, which also makes the spins possible to lure the zombies lunge. I can reach that if I turn my control mode to alternate, but if I do it, I can't stair skate at all.

If I switch to original, I can stair skate, but my characters moves insanely slowly with the left analog and I also have to press my running button (in my case, it's X on XBOX controller).

I'm using Steam settings to remap my controller and I use Type A controller.

Should I set it to Alternate or Original? If someone can explain me how to do the remap or send a video, I'll be grateful.

Thank you.

You want Alternative I'm sure, as far as I remember it allows simultaneous use of Tank and Analog control. That's how we usually do it so we can spin a zombie but then go back to tank for straight ish corridors etc (or at least I do) then if you are doing Door Skip you wanna rebind your right stick directions to all be X (Run button) so when skating you hold dpad up and spin the right stick to get the cleanest skates (This is only allowed in door skip, or it was last I ran the game so someone would have to correct me there) hope that helps

you need to select alternate controls in game so you can go back and forth between using left stick for tight turns and d pad for tank controls, but this won't allow you to analog skate. you can only stair skate while using the tank controls, no matter how you remap you will not be able to stair skate using left analog stick. the only remapping that is legal is making all 4 directions of your right analog stick read as run inputs, this way you can spin the stick and skate much faster than you could mashing a face button. there is a remap uploaded to the steam community, it should be right at the top of the list with the most downloads. since you run type A that is the one you want to use.
