Subcategories Proposal and more

Me and StevenMayte are back to change the boards for the better.

This time we want to add subcategories for the different platforms. This makes it much easier to see what platforms there are, which platform that is selected and best of all you will have the correct rank on your profile on speedrun.com.

The platforms we want to implement are: PC, GC, PS, PSN, DC and N64.

With these platforms also comes another change that I think is for the best. PS and PSN.

PS: I dont see a good reason for having 3 different boards for 3 consoles (PS1-3) for the same game (RE2 Playstation disk). This change has already been done before with the GC and Wii consoles sharing the same board for the GC disk. The boards should be devided by the version of the game and not the consoles.

PSN: This version is digital and downloadable from the PSN store for PS3 and PSP. I think that the digital version should be seperetad from the disk version (which they kind of already are except for "PS3 Emulator"). So PS3 and PSP should share the same board cause they run the same version just like the consoles for PS disk version.

Runs will have to be deleted and readded, Me and StevenMayte will do this, just like when we changed the entire board from Level Leaderboard to Full-game Leaderboard. Nothing will be changed until Thursday.

Let us know what you think.

I don't think it's a good idea to merge PSP with PS3 runs. The difference in loading times is abyssmal. PSP is pretty much the same speed as any emu so I would label "PSN" just the PS3 runs.

Other than that, everything else seems fine and I approve.

@zenix The main reason for putting them together is because neither category is popular and although they are grouped together they are still separate categories if use the filter option. which is pretty much no different to how it is now but instead of filtering out every single run ever submitted you just need to filter 1 version i do see your point though zenix

It's ok, I see the point in merging them for the sake of a better looking board.

@JulianManuelR This is how it would look like for adding a 2nd subcategory: https://s21.postimg.org/anyyn4qfb/asd.pngscreenshot

I prefer the look with only 1 subcategory but if most people like it then so be it :P

I'm all for merging catagories to clean the boards up. Merging PSP and PS3 is fine with me, as like previously stated, hardly anyone runs them anyway.

P.S. Every time I see that dabbing crap, I want to murder a kitten.

Please separate between Normal and Hard too under PC and Dreamcast

The Arrange Mode difficulties are renamed on Dreamcast (Rookie, Expert, Nightmare) but it's the exact same thing as on PC. Dreamcast version is a 1:1 port of the PC version minus doorskipping and loads.

I was also told that the timer didn't count loads on Dreamcast either but I need to use an emulator/hex editor to confirm.

I'm still standing with 1 subcategory, looks much better and I dont want it to look like RE1s Fullgame Leaderboard. If we dont add Any% and Low% then we cant add Normal and Hard.

Having subcategories for the platforms will gain the most for more people.

also there are currently 17 Low% runs on the board and 14 Hard Mode runs (half of the runs are over 2 years old). Point is if a 2nd subcategory would be added then Low% would go first.
