Hello everyone! I am very pleased to announce that the signups for the 2020 NSMBW Any% Tournament are now open! I have created a Google Doc that contains all the rules of this tournament along with all of the important links for signing up! I hope that everyone will enjoy this tournament and participate if possible! If you have any questions, message me on Discord.

Should the Tournament be cancelled due to COVID-19?
The tournament will continue despite the COVID-19 pandemic because everyone will be playing from home for the duration of the matches, so there will be no risk of public gathering.
But, I'm planning to be the host for the tournament, so does that affect anything?
The tournament is an online tournament and not a local tournament, in other words it will be hosted online. (On SpeedGaming to be precise) So there's no need to worry about COVID-19.
Can I catch COVID-19 by coming in contact with another enemy? (Like a Goomba or a Piranha Plant?)
Thanks. :) I was worried that I wouldn't be able to partake in my future role of announcer for the tournament.
And, no, you don't get COVID-19 from enemies in the game, only infected people.
Like what Romain said, the announcer role is also done from home via a Discord call
Like what the google doc said, you don’t need any past experience to announce or is there some requirements I just missed
There's no official requirements, but we would prefer that you have a decent amount of experience with playing the game, or enough time watching it and learning it that you would be able to give informative live commentary about the runs.
If anyone has more questions, we'd prefer them to be asked in the tournament's discord (linked within the information doc), as to not clutter up the forums here and so that they can be answered more expediently.
There is now just ONE week left to submit to the 2020 NSMBW Any% Tournament! I have made the decision to change up how the bottom 8 (of 16) people will be decided. This time, the top 8 immediately get in and the other people will have 3 attempts to get the best no reset they can. I will go into more detail in the tournament server, after submissions close.

Final reminder that today is the LAST DAY to submit to the 2020 any% tournament!
Everybody is welcome to join no matter what your skill level is, as long as you have a pb on src with video, and can stream! If you can’t stream but can record we can help you find a way! The bottom 8 seeds will decided through a qualifying mini-round before the actual start date so that we can get the most consistent players of the group!
Regardless of who makes it in and who doesnt, just make sure to have fun trying! After all, it is the most important rule 😉.

Submissions for the 2020 Any% Tournament are now closed! Thank you to everyone who submitted! The roles for the runners and commentators will be distributed shortly and then the qualifying mini-round will begin! Be sure to tune into runner's streams to see them qualify!
The 2020 Any% Tournament has officially started! I am really excited to see how this one will turn out. To those that didn't get in or joined the community too late, keep an eye out for the next tournament! I feel these may be able to become biannual if the community keeps growing like it is!
