did you install it in your steam folder....?

also close steam when you install it, install it to a random folder on your desktop and open the setup as admin, etc.

close steam -> install/unpack 2.0.0.8 in a DIFFERENT folder(random one on desktop), start as admin(the 2.0.0.8 one).

if you installed it in the same folder as your steam version then it WONT work.

you can have steam open but its better to have it closed when 2.0.0.8 is open.

You don't have to close Steam; you'll just have to restart Steam if you want to play any other game after having opened 2.0.0.8.

EDIT: The following errors were fixed for me by disabling my internet, as well as adding the .exe to Steam with the launch options explained below. If anyone else has these issues, try that, or add it to your firewall/netbalancer.

There is a shortcut included in the folder with extra launch options added, (-steam -appid 550 -nohltv -novid -console) so I decided to use those launch options in a shortcut of my own. Surprisingly, some campaigns would start, but usually within seconds, it would crash.

"-insecure" in launch options fixes all plugin/VAC related errors.
