Hi, I've been thinking of speedrunning for some time, and I'm more used to the PS2 controls than the PSP ones, so here's my question:
Is there a specific reason why all the "recent" Emulator Any% (No AJS) runs are on PSP? Or is it just a preference of the community?
PCSX2 can sometimes be a very slow emulator on very low end PCs. For PPSSPP, however, it can mostly run fine. Plus, PS2 version is really slow and laggy compared to PSP version at gameplay.
PSP version is simply faster. For instance, during Contra-Banned on PS2 you must get rid of the wanted level. On PSP you can go straight to the garage. I'm also not sure if OOB after Bringing The House Down works on PS2. But even if it does, as Glitchedblood mentioned above PPSSPP is more stable than PCSX2.
