Hi, I'm experiencing regular crashes when I attempt to record a run with OBS. I always crash at the end of chapter one, before the end of chapter screen, with an OutOfMemory Exception (while I have lot of memory left).
We told me that this problem is common, and that the only way to fix it would be to extend that memory limit with the everest Mod. (That indeed works) But I also know that this mod would interfere with submitting a run. How do I avoid crashing/ How do I manage to convince submitting a run with everest On?
Pray. It's not OBS, it's a game problem. Everest does fix it, but it's illegal. We are waiting for a patch, but devs still haven't answered. Not 100% sure, but maybe crashes might be excused in full game runs, but it's generally not encouraged. And no, you will most likely never be able to run with Everest on (unless you make your own Everest and make it hidden so mods would never find it, but if they do you'll be banned from the boards if not the site)
Considering that the problem is here since 2018 (according to some steam posts) , I doubt that this will be patched anytime soon.. However , I wonder why I got this problem. Do you think uninstalling and reinstalling could fix this? I'll give it a second try. EDIT: Nope, did nothing. Still wonder why me, that's quite unlucky. I guess speedrunning is out for me :(
It is an old bug, yes, but it's been happening a lot more lately since farewell. The fact that it crashes is not really the problem, but the fact that it's crashing a lot more often for a lot more people, and as you said in #bug-reports kinda makes speedrunning a lot more annoying.
Unfortunately there's no fix for the memory exception crash - however, since it only occurs during the chapter complete screen, you can bypass it by returning to map instead of skipping checkpoint. If you're experiencing this, I highly recommend returning to map at the end of 1a (very common there for people who experience the crash) and the end of 6a (relatively common and very late in the run) - I've personally only seen the crash in another place once, you may want to add additional rtms if you find another spot that seems to be a common crash for you.
With the announcement of Twitch introducing a 100h highlight storage limit, we think it's right to announce our stance on it. On April 19th Twitch will start deleting your highlights starting from the least viewed one, if the cumulative video length of all your highlights exceed 100 hours. This affe
