Autojump is a nuisanse anyway. it's really annoying bc it jumps all the time. it doesn't make the game ''easier'' and it's never going to be used. I can assure you of that.

Autojump is not perfect at all; it's still really difficult to do things right, because (as 1 example), if you're aside a block you can jump without meaning to jump. You and Thunder alike treat it as if autojump is literally perfect for speedrunning, and while it may certainly help, I think it still takes finesse.

The idea that you spend a lot of time creating a strat only for it to be useless happens a lot. It's happened to me several times. Do I get salty at first? Yes. Do I care in the end? No. Would I want something done to negatively impact others in order to fix it? No. That's the point. The game evolves, and what you are doing is essentially preventing it from evolving. The way I see it, that's not good

As I mentioned and still believe in 1, autojump won't carry people to wrs. They'll just be able to improve at a better rate (Which I think would help people get into this game if they choose to use autojump)

Because, again, a REASONABLE person would not quit speedrunning outright just because a certain game mechanic they did not like was allowed for speedrunning. If DE actually dies because of this, then it deserves to die.

The reason I want beginners to have that tool is so that they don't have to catch up on two years worth of strats. A majority of people would've quit by then, and adding autojump for a chance for the community to die as a slower rate sounds like a great idea.
You're saying education revolves around learning something over time, no matter how much they have to catch up. So a 7 year old who hasn't had any education or learning EVER should be advanced into 1st grade and be expected to catch up, even if they don't know the alphabet, or numbers?
We don't have it as hard as they did. Most, if not all of us, joined at a good time, where tryhards were less dominant, and strats were easier to learn. You're not credible to talk about this.

I mod the forums because I have a year of modding experience with Dragon Escape behind me, and not doing DE anymore doesn't change that. That only changes my knowledge of current concerning issues, which this honestly is not (I understand how much slab boosting matters in speedrunning at least because fucking 2 tiggz strats carried me to a 51 almost a year ago)
