The major disadvantages I can think of are as follows:
The inability to disable the tutorial notifications (minor time loss) No Quicksave & Quickload (Will have to use bumping for dialogue skip & torch glitch for sprinting) Due to lack of QS & QL, have fun with council :) No hotkeys for quick selecting items/shouts
Other than those it's still a valid category, it's just a much better idea to do time comparisons against other console runners as there is no real way to match some of the time saves possible on PC.
Just got a 46mins on console Thieves Guild (without loads), so it's totally doable, albeit harder. There are strats, but some runs just seem too hard or worthless (looking at you companions, a bit tedious). For anyone running console, email me at Reno.Saoko@gmail.com, would love to discuss console running (and work on any %, even with Council).
How is council looks like on console? You can't quick save, right?
Just started working on any% today, will need lots of help. Council will probably be unskipable, not sure if the waits will help much (will work on it and post results). Haven't tried loadwarps, but I doubt they'll work. Also, problems with duplicating Dragonbane and Mzark skip (keeps pushing me upwards as I wiggle). Basically console routing is hell, but enjoyable. Update soon.
We have partly council skip. We don't use it in Any% because qsql is faster. Watch Rexi's run at games done quick in Sweeden. I don't have a link, maybe he will post it
Was able to route any% on console with Orc by practicing each section individually, which means that most of the run is doable (for Mzark Tower wall, just bucket through, for Skuldafn just jump on the cliff on the left). However, can't seem to get the marriage glitch to work... it just goes through with the ceremony regardless. Need help figuring it out. And eventually if it doesn't work I'll have to start practicing the run with slow dragonrend and council, which sucks but I really don't want to give up on any% just yet, since saving Mzark glitch is a huge time save. Feedback is extremely appreciated.
