So I have finally decided to start learning how to speedrun. My game of choice is Half-Life1 with no scripts. I'd like to know what's the difference between WON and Steam version, which one is better and which one should I use? What is GoldSrc Engine/NGHL and do I need it in order to speedrun? Any help or info would be appreciated.
if you would like to use WON which is the most common for runners , you should install goldsrc package into your steam version in order to make it a WON version goldsrc package back your steam version game to the older version 1.1.0.7 (WON) you should also install bxt and rinput and launch them from a .bat file. i recommend for you follow this guide to install the game perfectly , by d0t : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfgEKs1V0wWc3A6kymkCzloHYTkwcsGYY and you can learn some strats from his channel.
Do I add this "bxt_save_runtime_data_in_demos 1" in the console? And something else.. I used this command bind "F1" "skill 1;map c1a0;bxt_hud_timer 1;bxt_timer_reset;bxt_timer_start;bxt_timer_autostop 1;bxt_autorecord run" and everything seems fine but how can I make sure the bhop script is off(not quite sure if Bunnymod XT is the script)?
this 2 rules are new and you want to make sure its done like that first make sure you are using the latest bxt dll version get the latest version from here copy the dll file and replace the old dll file with the new one from here: https://github.com/YaLTeR/BunnymodXT/releases after the update you can add this command : (default = 1) its "_bxt_save_runtime_data_in_demos 1" not "bxt_save_runtime_data_in_demos 1"
you need to follow d0t guide for scriptless so you want to make sure you are doing the scriptless as you hear what he saying its for scriptless. because this guide is for both scripted and scriptless (mixed).
